His Royal King Father Sergio is the Chief Minister of New Zealand and was a member of the Folketing from 2012 to 2019. On 10 May he was appointed Chief Minister of New Zealand. He was also a member of the Folketing till 2019 but lost re--election in 2019. On 11 May 2020 he was elected Deputy Leader of the Social Democratic Party. On 27 May 2020 he was elected a member of the Folketing as a list member, despite losing the Electorate of New Zealand and the Virgin Islands. On 30 May 2020 he will be sworn in as a member of the Folketing.
Leader of Venstre (2019-2020)
On 18 April 2019 Sergio announced that he would run for the leader of Venstre. On 1 June 2019 he was elected as leader unopposed as leader of Venstre. During the 2019 general election his party focused on the economy of Vatolean and re-building the country. On election day polls showed Venstre was likely going get about 15% of the vote. The exit poll on election night predicted the would get 12.5%. The next day when the final results reported Venstre had won 11.1% of the vote and no seats.
Second time as a Member of Parliament (2020-Present)
On 23 May 2020 Sergio was elected a list member of the parliament. He lost the seat of New Zealand and the Virgin Island with just 24.1% of the vote.
