The Secretary of State for Citizenship Affairs, more commonly known as the Citizenship Secretary, was a member of the Cabinet of Roscamistan and head of the Ministry of Citizenship Affairs. The position was made on 22 February 2022 after the abolition of the Greater Roscam and Lochrey Secretaries. The final Secretary of State was Ezekiel Ensor, who resigned on 16 August 2022. On 13 October 2022, the position was abolished and its duties were absorbed by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service of the Cabinet Office.
History
On 22 February 2022, two Secretary of State positions were abolished, making way for another to be formed, as the limit was only 7 existing at one time. The Ministry of Citizenship Affairs was established, along with the Secretary of State for Citizenship Affairs.
On 13 October 2022, after a vacancy of two months, the position alongside the Ministry of Citizenship Affairs were abolished, and its assets were merged into the Cabinet Office’s Immigration and Naturalisation Service.
Duties and responsibilities
The office was responsible for managing citizenship applications, visas, and status of overseas citizens alongside the Office of the President.
