Timeline

Prelude

Zaire was in big economic turmoil, inflation rose to 600 percent and Zairean Francs were pretty much worthless, dictatorial ways of rulling of Emir Uroš and enforcement of Sharia law have made people very unhappy. On 10 november 2021. Zaire went bankrupt, protests were held and they were violently cracked down. As a result of violent crackdown,next day, National Transitional Council of Zaire was established and an armed rebellion started.

Outbreak of conflict

In the early days of conflict, Zairean NTC had only diplomatic support from Rhodesian Republic and aid, still, NTC forces were able to take control of 20 percent of Zaire. On 5 December 2021, Rhodesian President called both sides to start negotiations to end the war in Zaire, negotiations failed and fighting continued. Meanwhile, fighting for Capital Province called Bagdala and capital city called Mobutugrad have been taking place. Five days later, NTC started to lose its territory and it was on verge of collapse. By the 25 December 2021, NTC controlled only one province called Capitolio, which was smallest province, but at this time, Rhodesian Intervention started.

Rhodesian Intervention

On 25 December 2021, Rhodesian President announced that he will be ordering Military Operation in Zaire in favour of NTC.[a]

On 31 December 2021, Rhodesian Forces liberated Mobutugrad in one hour, thus ending the civil war and Republic of Zaire.
