Samizdat University
The State of Samizdat launched an online university on 18 September 2021 by decree, offering a total of five short courses each with a customised certificate of achievement to add to a CV. The certificates are generated automatically on completion of the course and include details of the course, date completed and the students name.
Online Courses
The subjects of the short courses include accounting, finance, enterprise resource planning and Excel spreadsheets. Samizdat hopes to develop this project further in the future with additional courses covering more academic subjects. On 21 Sept 2021, an additinal course was added to the list of short courses on the subject of Customer Service Training. The course deals with chat etiquette and how to deal with difficult customers. More courses are likely to be developed in the future.
Linked In
Samizdat University welcomes students from Linked In who are interested in the subjects being offered by the online site. Linked In offers users the chance to upload certificates to profiles. Samizdat Universtiy offers personalised certificates for all its courses.
Sign Language Courses
For those interested in sign language, Samizdat University hopes to launch several basic level BSL and ASL sign language courses in the future. The video courses will relate to basic conversation, alphabet, everyday objects, most common words and expressions. The first sign language course was launched on 28 September 2021 on the topic of the ASL alphabet, followed by a basic first aid course on 29 September 2021.
