The Royal Independent Commission Against Corruption (Swedish:Kungliga Oberoende Kommissionen Mot Korruption i Zeelandien) also known as RICACZ or KOKMK is an independent anti-corruption agency with a broad mandate in the field of preventing and investigating corruption, breaches of ethics and integrity of public office in Zealandia.
The Commission is led by a Commissioner who is appointed at the monarch's pleasure.
History
The RICACZ was founded upon the implementation of the recommendations of a Royal Commission that was held into historical electoral corruption within the Zealandian state and upon the dismissal of the government led by Tala Tiptree.
Investigatory powers
The RICACZ has jurisdiction over federal, cantonal and local government in Zealandia.
This extends to Ministers of the Crown, members of the Chamber of Deputies, the Governors of the Cantons, civil servants, members of the Zealandian Watch, and staff of state-owned enterprises.
Any citizen may petition the commission to investigate a matter.
The commission has the coercive powers of a Royal Commission and can compel witnesses to testify. Where the Commission finds that an official has acted corruptly it may refer the matter to the prosecuting authorities.
