New Washington is a micronation located in North America, specifically the Great Lakes region of the United States. It was created on 29 June 2014 by Jack Lotito, a former micronationalist. As of 29 June 2014[update], the president is the country's only resident.
History
Founding and pre-history
In March 2012, president Jack Lotito founded the nation of Galroxia, at in his bedroom. He ran the micronation for on and off for a year before officially retiring the nation in April 2013. He left the micronational community unofficially. During the summer of 2014, he felt his micronational roots yearning, so he created the republic of New Washington, representing the reincarnation of Galroxia and Jack Lotito's micronational career.
On June 29, 2014, the republic was founded at 4:34 PM Central Time.
First Era (June 29, 2014 - April 21, 2015)
June 29, 2014 - The first day of the countries existence saw the creation of the post of the presidency and the Senate. April 21, 2015 - After yet more inactivity from the President, he has vowed to try to stay active in the micro-national community, hopefully ending the spell of inactivity for good.
