Aurelia, officialy the Republic of Aurelia, is an autonomous territorial entity which claims to be a sovereign state but is more commonly referred to as a micronation by external observers. Founded in southern Germany, Aurelia declared independence from Germany in August 2023. Aurelia consists of the Federal States of Memmingen and Lower Algovia.
Due to Aurelia being very young, it is still in the process of building up diplomatic relationships with other micronations.
Etymology
The name Aurelia has two origins:
- The Latin word "aurum" which means "gold", showing the president's vision of a "golden future"
- A video series by YouTuber Akruas about building a city called "Aurelia"
History
Originally, Aurelia was founded back in 2021, but quickly fell into inactivity. But after the president rediscovered micronationalism in 2023, Aurelia was founded again. As mentioned earlier, Aurelia is very young, so this section is currently very short. Soon after the foundation, a constitution was finished. But because the Communist Party won the first election, the constitution will be rewritten.
Politics and government
Aurelia is a democratic micronation which has a president and a parliament.
President
The President is the head of state and government, being the highest executive power in the country. He is able to suggest laws and order decrees.
Parliament
The parliament is the legislative branch of Aurelia. It decides on laws and has the ability to initiate impeachment proceedings if the president dangeres the democratic ideals of the country.

A national police system is being proposed.

A military is being proposed and will consist of three branches:

Aurelia is a nation who doesn't fight aggressive wars and tries to keep peace in the micronational community.

There is a German train track which goes through Aurelian territory and markes the northern border with Germany, but Aurelia doesn't have own trains or train stations.
