The Republic of Abenica is a micronation founded on 11 December 2021, basing its sovereignty on the parameters of the declarative theory, having proclaimed its independence at the time of the adoption of the Constitution.

Abenica has a presidential form of government, in which the National Assembly, which consists of all citizens over the age of eighteen without criminal record, elects a Prime Minister responsible for the tasks of administration and co-ordinating the various national departments.


History

The micronation was founded by Jolker Ruizun on 11 December 2021, coinciding with the drafting and publication of the Constitution.

On 18 December 2021, the micronation launched a campaign to boycott the Qatar 2022 World Cup on ethical and moral grounds in support of the victims of the Qatari regime and as a symbolic protest for human rights.

On 19 December 2021, Abenica joined the campaign to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in the People's Republic of China, in symbolic support of the victims of the Chinese regime.

On 22 December 2021, the Christmas holidays, from 23 to 31 December, were established as non-working days and public holidays.

The Gastronomic Institute of Abenica was created on 24 December 2021, with the aim of collecting and disseminating the traditional recipes and snacks of Abenica, as well as researching to create new recipes and train citizens in gastronomy.

On 28 December 2021, Abenica ratified the Wrythe Convention in the National Assembly.

On 7 January 2022, the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation between the Republic of Abenica and the Principality of Sancratosia was signed.

On 8 January 2022, in the framework of the Micronational reactions to the 2022 Kazakhstan Protests, Decree 3/2022 was issued, condemning the regime of Kasim-Yomart Tokaev and imposing a total trade and tourism embargo on him for his order to shoot to kill dissidents to his dictatorial regime, a very serious violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.[2]

On 21 January 2022, the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation between the Republic of Abenica and the Democratic State of Aucepia was signed.

On 24 January 2022, the Fragment of Verdi's Triumphal March Aida was approved as the Official Anthem of Abenica.

On 2 Febryary 2022 an Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation with the Federal Republic of Eltavia was signed.

On 22 February 2022, Decree 11/2022, on non-recognition of entities that do not recognise Abenica, was adopted, whereby Abenica ceased all interference in the activities of any entity that does not recognise it as a sovereign state. The new foreign policy culminated on 26 February with the adoption of Decree 13/2022, which repealed all previous legislation supporting boycotts of the 2022 Winter Olympics and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Abenica Fashion Week was held from 1 to 8 March 2022, where one design was showcased each day.[3]


Government and politics

Abenica is a representative democracy, with a Prime minister as head of state, being a parliamentary republic, with a unicameral system, the National Assembly, in which all citizens over 18 years of age without a criminal record can participate.

First Legislature

The First Legislature of Abenica began on 20 December 2021, when the National Assembly elected Jolker Ruizun as Prime Minister.[4]

The first policy initiatives in the First Legislature were aimed at defending human rights and promoting boycotts of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

On 31 December 2021, Dr K Mohan Menon was appointed Minister of Finance.

On 5 January 2022, Ferren Gaalf was appointed Minister of Culture.



Diplomacy

On 7 January 2022, the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation between the Republic of Abenica and the Principality of Sancratosia was signed

On 8 January 2022, Abenica does not recognise the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and applies a full embargo on Kazakhstan.

On 21 January 2022, the Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation between the Republic of Abenica and the Democratic State of Aucepia was signed.

On 2 Febryary 2022 an Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation with the Federal Republic of Eltavia was signed.

On 24 February 2022 an Agreement on Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation with the Comunal Republic of Samacia was signed.

Abenica Mint

The Abenica Mint issued a special coin on 13 December 2021 to mark the 246th anniversary of the birth of the writer Jane Austen on 16 December.

The Abenica Mint issued a special issue on 15 December 2021 of a banknote with a face value of 10 Creds featuring the image of Solon of Athens, one of the Seven Sages of Greece, and on the reverse the phrase "all pretences soon fall to the ground like fragile flowers, and nothing counterfeit can be lasting" by Cicero.

The Abenica Mint issued a special issue on 14 January 2022 of a banknote with a face value of 20 Creds featuring the image of Marcus Aurelius, a Roman emperor, and on the reverse the fragment "The true way to take revenge on an enemy is not to resemble him", written by the Abenica Mint.

Gastronomic Institute

On 24 December 2021, the Gastronomic Institute was created with the aim of preserving information on the traditional way of cooking and eating of the citizens.

On 25 January 2022, the Gastronomic Institute published its first publication on the traditional method of cooking eggs in Abenica.

Popular University of Abenica

Established on 17 December 2021, the Abenica People's University is dedicated to disseminating general culture and promoting education and research in the Republic of Abenica.
