Renaissance (Bulgarian: Възраждане, Vǎzraždane, [vɤzˈraʒdɐnɛ]) is a satirical political party in Rhomalia, the Union of Senland, founded by Quintus De Vitaliis, a Græcian micronationalist and citizen of Rhomalia. The party was established as a parody of far-right parties with discriminatory rhetoric and strong controversies.
History
Origins
The party's founder, Quintus De Vitaliis, has no political affiliation within his own micronation, Græcia, as the partisan system has yet to be adopted. Following the dissolution of the Monarchist Party of Constantia, this is the second political party in a foreign micronation established by Quintus. He was asked by the founder of Senland, Serafim Volov, to participate in Rhomalia's political life, in order to boost the successor state to Lesia and Karduna, Rhomalia. As a result, Quintus came up with the idea of establishing a satirical party, an idea that was submitted to Volov and approved with the intention of serving as an experimental factor in Rhomalian and Senlandian politics.
Founding and registration
The party was founded on 26 July 2024 AD and immediately registered in Lesia and Karduna, then a protectorate of Græcia. It was approved by Serafim Volov, the President of Rhomalia, on the same day Senland was established: 21 October 2024 AD.
Ideology
The party's ideology is located within the authoritarian right quarter of the political spectrum. The sub-ideologies embraced by the party are various and loosely connected.
Factions
The party is divided into three core factions:
- The Nationalists (Bulgarian: Националисти Nacionalisti)
- The Christians (Bulgarian: Християни Hristijani)
- The Loyalists (Bulgarian: Лоялисти Lojalisti)
Each of the factions has its own corresponding agenda: the Nationalists are anti-communists and anti-Islam, the Christians promote the Christian Nationalist agenda, whereas the Loyalists are antisemites and anti-LGBTQ.
Identity
The party's logo is a rising phoenix, a symbol semantically tied to the word "renaissance", as the legendary phoenix is reborn from his ashes. The party's colours are black and red, derived from the colours of IMRO.
