The Rat Island Sovereignty Dispute was a sovereignty dispute over Rat Island, an island in the Tauranga Harbour where three nations, the Ward Empire, Empire of Him and Empire of the Benereich all claim sovereignty over the island.

As per the terms of the Commonwealth - Empire Peace Treaty Agreement, the Rat Island area would be handed over to the Empire of Him as a means to negotiate peace. However prior to the formation of the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations, the Ward Empire claimed sovereignty over the island and following the Battle of Rat Island, the Arstotzkan Union promised to return the island back to the Ward Empire. After the end of the War, the Empire of Benereich announced an Ultimatum to the First President of the Arstotzkan Union their claim over the territory.

On 29 October 2022, the First President formed the Intermicronational Territorial Commission on Rat Island, with the intention of dividing the island between the three nations.

On 31 October 2022, the Empire of Benereich declared war on the Tauranga Commonwealth of Micronations, beginning the Benereich - Coalition War.
