The Presidential Republic of Pyrostan, commonly known as Pyrostan, was a self-declared sovereign state but is more commonly referred to as a micronation by external observers. Pyrostan was a nation made up of one contiguous plot of land located in the US state of Maine. The culture of the nation is based upon Turkmen values and ideas. The nation was dissolved on the 14th of April 2021.

Etymology

Pyrostan is defined as The land of The Fire People, this is a play on the Avatar the Last Air Bender's main antagonist the Fire Nation. The name can be broken down into Pyro comes from the Greek word πῦρ (pyr), meaning fire and Stan the suffix -stan (Persian: ـستان‎, romanized: stân after a vowel; estân or istân after a consonant) has the meaning of "a place abounding in" or "a place where anything abounds" in Persian language. It appears in the names of many regions in Iran, Afghanistan, and Central and South Asia, as well as in the Caucasus and Russia.

History

The nation was first thought of by Archie Birch in August of 2020 and was initially started in January 2021 after Archie Birch announced wanting to create a second micronation. Archie proposed his idea to Jamie Birch which Jamie agreed to, the nation was formed on the 26th of January 2021 as a Micropatriology experiment to see what the impacts of having a non restrictive diplomatic policy in the MicroWiki community.

Politics and Government

The government of Pyrostan is a single party unicarmel system with a president as the leader of the nation. The legislature is called the Pyrostani Mejils with one seat currently in the legislature. The ruling party of the nation is the Pyrostani Turkmen Party. While the nation is based on Turkmenistan, the nation makes the clear distinction of not agreeing with the oppressive nature of current Turkmenistan government.

Districts:

Pyrostan is split into two districts, Daşoguz and Türkmenabat, the districts are named after the Turkmenstani district capitals of Daşoguz and Lebap regions respectively. The districts are located on the coast of Long Lake in Naples, Maine, both districts are mainly rocky with a small amount of trees with light fields and the houses of Jamie Birch at the border of Daşoguz District and the border with Naples, Maine.

The economy of Pyrostan is small with limited use, the economy is based upon a barter and trade system where goods and services are decided on by the individuals in the deal. The Pyrostani government makes money through a series of monthly donations Clynk and redemption center programs. The main currency of Pyrostan is the Misberian Franc and is currently tied to nothing.

The culture of Pyrostan is based upon Turkem culture and ideas, the national faith is Islamic with the President exploring the Islamic faith. The national newspaper is covered by the The Bobwhite Gazette.

The flag of Pyrostan is a white bordered flag with a green middle and a emblem in the middle with a cultural symbol of the Turkmen people with two crossed swords behind it with a golden fire symbol in the middle of it. The symbol in the middle also is the emblem of the nation.

Micropatriology

The nation of Pyrostan is a micronational experiement to study the effects of not having a diplomatic policy when working with other micronations. The whole premise is to say yes to all mutual recognition treaties but staying away from organizations, drama and micronational wars. The project concluded that who you have relations does not impact a nation, however a stance on intermicronational affairs does have a impact, since Pyrostan had a neutral stance in micronational affairs, there was limited to little impact on the nation.
