The Progressive Front is a centre-left coalition between the ruling Sonoran Patriotic Party and Liberal Party to form a majority government in both the Senate and People's Council of the National Assembly. The front was established on August 10, 2018 following a general election that saw the Nationals win the presidency but not the legislature, which was won by mostly members of the SPP. However, because the SPP only had the most seats and did not have sufficient standing to form a majority government, they established an accord with the Liberal Party. In doing so, this allowed both parties to hold 2/3 majority in both houses to form the majority they needed. Final talks were conducted on August 11 after having confirmed leadership and the agreed platform the Front will run on for the current session of the National Assembly.
