The Principality of Snagov was a micronation in Romania, which existed between December 2015 and March 2016.

Background

The Principality of Snagov is a former nation which declared independence from Romania on 2 December 2015. The system of government established in the nation was that of a absolute diarchy with the position of the head of state being shared by the two Sovereign Princes Gheorghe Ștefan Marius and Chilău David Robert, who held a co-equal position in the state's administration. The principal land claims of the nation were the entirety of Ciolpani, Snagov and Gruiu communes of Romania.

However, the nation was short-lived and re-joined Romania on 25 March 2016. It is also termed to be the pioneer and predecessor-state of the present-day nation of the Snagovian Federal Republic.
