The Praetorian Prefecture of Occidentis was an administrative division of the Empire of Imvrassia.
Etymology
The name of "Occidentis" is literally means "western land", a term is used in historiography to describe the period from 286 to 476, where there were separate coequal courts dividing the governance of the Roman empire in the Western and the Eastern provinces.
The choice of the name was made in order to honor the western part of the Roman empire and at the same time to show where the lands ruled by Imvrassia are located.
Motto
The motto for Praetorian Prefecture of Occidentis is "The Beautiful Western Lands" "τα όμορφα δυτικά εδάφη".
History
The Praetorian Prefecture was created in early 2020 as a political division after the reorganization of the Empire of Imvrassia.
Additional Prefectures were also created at this time, to which territories were divided up according to the geographical location. All political jurisdictions are located in Western Europe are under the Prefecture. The Prefecture abolished by Imperial Degree on 13 April 2024 in the context of administrative reorganization of the state.
Politics
The Praetorian Prefecture of Occidentis was a Prefecture of the Empire of Imvrassia and was ruled by a Prefect who was nominally appointed by the Crown of Imvrassia. The Prefect rules for the length of time as determined by the Crown of Imvrassia. Additionally, a Chartoularios is appointed as well to carry out the administrative tasks of the Prefect and the Empire.
Administrative Divisions
The Praetorian Prefecture of Occidentis was one of the Prefectures of the Empire of Imvrassia and was composed by the Exarchate of Aglakea and the Danish March. Τhe Praetorian Prefectures were the largest political divisions within the Empire of Imvrassia.
Culture
The culture of the Praetorian Prefecture reflects that of the Exarchate of Aglakea, which is Western European in nature and has a significant influence from the Iberian states. It is also the culture is based on Greek and Roman culture as well.
Citizenship
Citizenship is open to the Prefecture of Occidentis to all those individuals that are above the age of 14 and reside within the political boundaries of the various Western European nations of the former western Roman Empire. And are citizens in good standing and honorable character within their native country.
