Praetorian Prefect (Imvrassia)

A Praetorian Prefect was a title to describe the head of the administration in a Praetorian Prefecture.
An Imvrassian citizen who had the title of Magistros or Pansebaste as well as members of the Imperial House with the rank of Sebastokrator or Sebastokrateira could appointed as a Praetorian Prefect by the Crown and the length of his/her term was determined by his own desire to administer an administrative subdivision of the state as is the case of others administrative divisions.
A Praetorian Prefect's immediate assistant and deputy had the office of Chartoularios. The office abolished by Imperial Degree on 13 April 2024 in the context of administrative reorganization of the state.
