Power to the People! (German: Macht dem Volk!), also known by its acronym as the PttP, is an unregistered Left-wing to Far-Left political party in Abelden.
History
Power to the People! was founded on the fourth of June by its current leader Cianan Clough. PttP was formed as a political alternative to the long-standing political forces in Abelden, presenting new ideologies and policies to the already crowded but politically stagnant electoral options.
Upon the news of the death of Nicholas Randouler and uneasy feelings around political stability in Abelden, Cianan took the decision to put the movement on hold. Cianan has now joined the Pirate League, continuing his campaign for a political alternative and true Democratic representation.
Ideology
The Launch Manifesto of the party sets out it's guiding ideals, based around the central ideology of Democratic Confederalism. The party re-writes the conflict over state rights, standing behind a new model of governance in the form of new democratic institutions, these being Communal Assemblies functioning as Direct Democracies. The manifesto also promotes the idea of Popular Monarchy, in-lign with the belief that sovereignty and power must lie with the people and it is the duty of the Monarch to protect the people and their institutions.
Key to a new democratic society is Pluralism and Social Justice. A truly democratic, free and well functioning society must both facilitate the inclusion and representation of many different cultural, religious, lingual, ethnic and economic groups and the respect and integration of these groups into higher ideals of freedom and democracy. Through this inclusion of a wider base of opinions, views and cultures a more equal and successful democratic system and society can be achieved. The manifesto also highlights the importance of respect for the environment and its impact on societal development through Social Ecology, along with Economic Sustainability, Green Economics and the requirement of a democratic society to promote an economic model resulting in a more equal society. The PttP promotes the creation of Cooperatives to distribute income and development fairly in Abelden, to reduce the creation of monopolies and potential for conflict.
