Paloma of Karnia-Ruthenia (born: 12 December 1993), née Princess Paloma of Mortenfeudt, is the wife of the Oscar I, Emperor-King of Karnia-Ruthenia. She is the first Empress Consort of Karnia, second Queen Consort of Ruthenia and the only daughter of Prince Albert of Mortenfeudt and his wife, Princess Adalia de Mortenfeudt. She is the older sister of the Hereditary Prince Allan de Mortenfeudt.

Early Life

Know for her beauty, Paloma grew up in São Paulo in a very unrestrained environment and she had a very happy childhood and caring of her brother, Allan, who born when she was 15 years old. In fact, her family led a quiet and happy life. On late September 2013, Oscar I, Emperor-King of Karnia-Ruthenia, at that time just Count von Götzö, had met Paloma and their courtship took place during the time they studied at the same university and the future Emperor-King was presented to her family at the marriage of her cousin Laisla of Mendes-Vieira, her companion during the childhood, in December of that year. She and her family was presented to the Imperial and Royal Family on Christmas Day of 2013.

Early Micronational life

The Emperor-King and the Empress during the Micronational Summit of São Paulo, 25 June 2016.

Dedicated student of Law, the future Empress-Queen became involved little with the actual activities of her partner when he became Crown Prince and Grand Duke of Ruthenia on 19 November 2014 and King of the Ruthenians in the next day. She became Duchess in Ruthenia (not "of Ruthenia") on 07 December 2014. Paloma was the first woman to bear this title, as a possible consort of the King. His father was elevated to the Ruthenian nobility when Oscar I grant to his father, Albert, the title of Prince of Mortenfeudt on 16 February 2015. Her mother became Princess and her younger brother, Hereditary Prince. She became Princess and now, was more then suitable for became the Queen of Ruthenia.

The micronational wedding took place on 12 June 2015, when they celebrate the day of St. Anthony, the patron saint of weddings and dating, according to the Ruthenian tradition. Immediately after the wedding, was created in order to celebrate the royal marriage, the Order of the Queen. Her first act as Queen was grant to the most distinguished female personalities of the micronation the first order exclusively for women. She became Grand Mistress of the Order.

Immediately after the wedding, the Queen received several decorations and foreign titles, especially from Pavlov and the Principality of Surland, demonstrating that the international prestige of her husband stretched to his consort.

On 29 August 2015, her husband became the King of Bessabia, and she assumed the title of his consort. Less then a month after she became Queen of Bessabia, her husband became Emperor of Badakistan and her became the first Empress of the micronation until its dissolution on 08 December 2015. On late October 2015, her husband became one of the Domnitori of Carpathia, holding the title of Princess of Carpathia until 09 July 2016, when the Household of Their Royal Highness-es the Co-Domnitori Alexander XII and Oscar I, has announced that the Domnitor Oscar abdicated from the Princely throne of the Carpathia leaving the throne solely to Alexander XII. This was done as a part of a treaty between the two co-Domnitori, by which the Carpathia would become a constituent state of the Karno-Ruthenian Empire[1].

The Karno-Ruthenian Compromise of 2016 created the double monarchy of Karnia-Ruthenia. With this change, the activities of the consort also changed. Until then, she only had welcomed the ambassadors and participated in some court events. However, after the founding of Karnia-Ruthenia, she became more active, and also participated in micronational meetings. The first official duty of Her Imperial and Royal Majesty was the Micronational Summit of São Paulo, on 25 June 2016.

In May 2018, her husband, the Emperor-King, sought to appoint her to the office of Governor of the Imperial Bank of Karnia-Ruthenia. It occurs that Wilhelm von und zu Hochbach-Wigmaransz, Minister of Justice consulted by the Emperor, did not agree with the appointment of the Empress for the governance functions of the Imperial Bank since, in his view, this would contravene the provisions of Article 39 of the Imperial Constitution which deals with the rights of the Imperial Family related to candidacies and political positions. According to the Minister's statement, although the article does not express the functions of the Empress, its attributions can be perceived by analogy to the functions of the Emperor as Head of State, which does not include the functions of the Imperial Bank.

After the controversy, the Empress gained a place within the Karno-Ruthenian Army, becoming the first female to be member of the Armed Forces of Karnia-Ruthenia, with the rank of Colonel. There, she was expected to assume the newly-cretaed office of Judge Advocate General and, in this office, to write the Code of Military Justice.
