The Most Illustrious Royal Order of the Crown of Vishwamitra, formerly known as the Order of the Crown is a national and chivalric order of knighthood in the State of Vishwamitra established by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy on 27 August 2020 in order to confer upon individuals to recognize their contributions to the nation and its people and to promote the interests of the State.
Contents
History
The Royal Order of the Crown of Vishwamitra was established on 27 August 2020 by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy as the Order of the Crown. The order's goal is to honor and recognize a person for it's value or merit. At time of its establishment, it used to be the nation's third highest chivalric honour, ranking below the Order of the Lotus but above the Order of the Vishwamitra. It used to be a single grade order from its establishment until the reorganization of the order in February 2021.
On 24 February 2021, Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy issuing Royal Decree XIII (MMXXI) reorganized the Order of the Crown, thereby renaming it as the Most Illustrious Royal Order of the Crown of Vishwamitra and creating various grades in the order.
Classes
The order consists of three classes and four grades, with a distinction between males and females.
Special Class
The special class consists of one grade, with distinction between males and females.
- The special class comprises of the highest grade of the order, that of Knight or Dame Grand Cordon. It is reserved for the Sovereign of the order and the other provincial monarchs. It is conferred upon senior members of the royal families, regents, members of foreign royal families and foreign heads of state.
First Class
The first class consists of one grade, with distinction between males and females.
- The first class of the order, that of Knight or Dame Grand Cross is conferred on members of the royal family, senior members of the government, members of the privy council, foreign heads of state and government and members of foreign royal families.
Second Class
The second class of the order consists of two grades, with distinction between males and females.
- The grade of Grand Commander is conferred upon senior military and diplomatic officials, low-ranking members of the government and lower members of the foreign royal families.
- The grade of Commander is conferred upon military officials and civilians.
Insignia
The insignias of the Grand Cordon and Grand Cross of the order is almost similar, except the badges. The badge of the grade of Grand Cordon is a little bigger in size to that of the badge of the Grand Cross.
