The Democratic Khanate of Novus (or Novus Khanate) is a micronation established 21 February 2021. It is described as a “nomadic nation” that is not claiming any land but is actively looking for a homeland. The goal of the nation is to create a, as near as possible, self-sufficient entity with emphasis on community, personal freedom, and environmental sustainability.
History
The nation was established 21 February 2021. The Constitution of Novus was adopted the same day.
Economy
The Novus Monetary Unit or “mon” (M) is the currency of Novus. The mon is intended to develop into a monetary unit based on gold standard. As of now however, the mon is a fiat currency with a proposed fixed exchange rate to a 100th of the price of a gram of gold.
