The New Weddington Isles, also known as The Manor of New Weddington or simply as New Weddington, is a sovereign state claiming the Royal Company's Islands off the coast of Tasmania. The government in exile is located in Canberra, Australia. It is classified as a micronation by most external observers.
Originally set up in 2019, the government of New Weddington recognizes 30 March 2020 as the establishment of the New Weddington Isles.[1]
The New Weddington Isles were originally set up in Weddington in the United Kingdom, which is considered by New Weddington as the Old Weddington. New Weddington wishes to re-establish the medieval village of Weddington and its former castle.[2]
Both the MicroNations League Trophy and the MicroAFL League are initiatives of the New Weddington Isles.
