Background

On October 10, 2016, the Republic of New Custosia was founded by Edward Daniels who assumed the presidency in New Custosia. Daniels declared that presidents and other high ranking governmental officials shall run for three years until an election. If a new president is elected, they must chose a High Senator who represents the legislature partially. The incumbent president can run again for one time and one time only. Edward Daniels chose December 23 to be the date of the presidential elections because it's the day before all the major end year holidays. January 1 is chosen for Inauguration Day because it's the first day of the year and the president-elect can get a "fresh start".
