National mournings in Vishwamitra
National days of mourning are days or events marked by mourning and memorial activities observed in Vishwamitra among the country's populace. They are designated by the government of Vishwamitra to mark such days on the death or funeral of a renowned individual or individuals within the nation or other spheres of influence or foreign dignitaries. The declaration of a period of national mourning involves the national flag to fly at half-mast and observance of a period with no official entertainment during this time.
History
The first recorded mourning in the history of Vishwamitra dates back to 2015 when a period of mourning was announced throughout the nation following the demise of the maternal grandmother of founder Varuna Sriraya on 1 May 2015. Consequently, a protocol was established to observe a state mourning on occasions leading to the demise of a member of the first family or extended families of a citizen of Vishwamitra. The period of mourning varies from one to three days as deemed by the head of state.
Apart from members of the family of citizens, state mournings have also been observed on the demise of foreign leaders and notable individuals who have made significant achievements in their lifetime. The protocol also requires the government of Vishwamitra to observe periods of mourning on similar events declared by the Government of India and that of the state government of Assam.
Protocol
All necessary announcements and protocol arrangements are to be ensured by the Ministry of Home Affairs in continuous consultations with the office of the Rashtradhyaksh (formerly, the office of the President). The announcement of a state mourning is to be made with a public declaration issued by the ministry with also requires all national flags to fly at half-mast throughout the period of mourning and there shall also be no official entertainment during the period.
