Functions
Lawmaking
In Forestia, the legislation is governed by both the Constitution and the National Assembly. The assembly has powers to propose and pass legislation within the territory of Forestia, which is exercised by passing bills through voting which are then either approved or denied by the president. A draft law can be proposed by any member of the assembly, by the president, by the vice president, the ministers, and state governors. A law will only be put into effect if it has the majority approval of the assembly and the approval of the president.
Territorial reforms
The assembly is able to vote on whether Forestia as a whole will annex other territories. As with laws, the process begins with a proposal to annex or reform a territory, which is defined as a piece of land that can be occupied by people, but doesn't require a permanent population. However, in contrast to lawmaking, proposed territorial annexations need the approval of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Building
The National Assembly's de jure meeting building is in Vale Plano. However, due to the fact that most government officials in Forestia are not operating from its territory, sessions are de facto held virtually via Discord.
