The Monarchy of the Kingdom of Apollo (commonly referred to as the Apollian Monarchy) is the absolute Monarchy of the Kingdom of Apollo. The present Monarch, Ann I , has reigned since 18 May 1993. She and her immediate family undertake various official, ceremonial and representational duties. As an absolute monarch, the Queen has ultimate exective authority over the government of the Kingdom of Apollo, such as opening HM The Government, appoint or dismiss Secretaries of State and bestowing honours.

Role

The Monarch is the Head of State, HM The Government, HM The Royal Council and HM The Royal Court of Apollo. The Monarch cannot have any other State Appointments e.g. Secretary of State for Home Affairs. The Monarch is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Apollian Armed Forces. The Monarch is the Fount of Honour and has the exclusive right of conferring legitimate title of nobility and orders to other people. The Monarch has the power to appoint/dismiss Secretaries of State and Masters of Apollo for State Appointment(s). The Monarch has the right to dissolve Acts and Act amendments. The Monarch is above the law and cannot be criminally prosecuted.

Succession

The order of succession to the Kingdom of Apollo Throne is the sequence of Members of the Royal Family in the order in which they stand in line to the Throne. The Throne is hereditary in the direct natural and legitimate line of the Royal House, by absolute primogeniture. Only the blood line of the Monarch can be on the order of succession. Only legitimate persons can be on the order of succession. Children who are adopted are not eligible to succeed. Members of the Royal Family who have illegitimate children are eligible to succeed. Illegitimate children whose parents (only blood line) marry after the birth are legitimated but their illegitimate children are not eligible to succeed. Persons who marry into the Royal Family cannot be on the order of succession. If the Monarch has no children to pass the throne on, then it would go to the Monarch's siblings (eldest first). The Monarch's siblings children then would succeed to the throne. If the Monarch has no siblings to pass the throne on, then it would go to the Monarch's uncle or auntie (eldest first) The Monarch's uncle or auntie's children then would succeed to the throne. The Heir Apparent shall accede to the Throne immediately upon the vacancy thereof, and exercise all the authority and powers thereof from the moment of succession. The Master of Ceremonies and Members of the HM The Royal Council publicly proclaimes the new sovereign's accession to the Throne. The monarch is crowned in Royal St Ives Hall by the Master of Ceremonies.

Regency

The Apollian Regency Act 1900 allow for regencies in the event of a monarch who is a minor or who is physically or mentally incapacitated. When a regency is necessary, the next qualified individual in the line of succession automatically becomes regent. The Monarch delegates certain state functions and powers to the Ambassadors of State when the Monarch is abroad or unavailable for other reasons.

The Sovereign's official style and title includes the titles of the head of each department i.e. HM The Royal Council and Honours of the Kingdom of Apollo i.e. Order of the Moon. If the Sovereign has other titles i.e. The Duke or The Duchess they are included in the Sovereign's official title and also honours that their have received. The Sovereign is known as 'His Majesty' or 'Her Majesty' and chooses his or her regnal name, usually their first name.

Residences

All of the Royal Residences belong to the Crown; they are held in trust for future Sovereigns.

Royal Palace of Zeus

The Royal Palace of Zeus is the official Royal residence in the capitial Luna. The palace is named after Zeus, the Greek God, the King of the Gods. In the grounds is the Royal Family's mausoleum called Royal Hades. Most members of the Royal Family have been interred in Royal Hades including Queen Mary and Rose of Lanock.

Royal Palace of Canon

The Royal Palace of Canon is the official residence to the Heir to the Throne and their family. Reginald I gave orders in 1924 to build a palace by the coast for the Heir Apparent. Reginald I and Rose designed the palace and the gardens. The palace was finished in 1929 and it took five years to complete. The palace was a 20th birthday present to Prince Edward from his father. Edward was the first Heir Apparent to live there with his family. When Edward ascended to the Throne he passed Canon on his daughter Princess Ann, who became the Heir Apparent. When Prince Paul became twenty years old, his mother Ann I gave him Canon with his own Royal Household. Prince Paul became the third Heir Apparent to live in Canon. Most members of the Royal Family have their Naming Ceremony at the palace in the Yellow Drawing Room.

Royal Palace of Asteria

The Royal Palace of Asteria has apartments for other Members of the Royal Family. The palace was named after the daughter of the Greek God, Coeus. Currently Prince Leonardo, Duke of Moor, Princess Gabrielle, Countess of Marshall with her family lives there with their own Royal Household.

Emanuel Manor

The Royal Family also owns a private estate as personal property in Warren called Emanuel Manor. In 1932 Reginald I brought the manor from the Earl of Torland as a family country home for the Royal Family. Reginald I made improvements to the manor and the estate and when he died he left the manor to his son Edward. The manor has seen the deaths of two monarchs Reginald I and Edward I. The Royal Family regulary spend Christmas at Emanuel and make it their official base until the State Opening of HM The Government in early January.

Arms & Standard

The Royal Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Apollo the official coat of arms of the Apollain Monarch. These arms are used by the Monarch in their official capacity as Monarch. Reginald I gave orders to the Master of Arms to create the Royal Coats of Arms for use of the Monarch and a official symbol of the Monarchy.

The Monarch's official flag in the Kingdom of Apollo is the Royal Standard, which depicts the Royal Arms. It is flown only from buildings, vessels and vehicles in which the Sovereign is present. The Royal Standard is never flown at half mast, even after the dealth of the Sovereign, as there is awalys a Sovereign on the Throne. At Royal funerals the Royal Standard is place on top off the coffin.
