The Monarchodemocrats (Greek:Μοναρχοδημοκρατες),was a political party of the Republic of Saint Christopher founded on 20 March 2016 by President-General John Triantafyllos. The official colors of the party were dark blue, white and gold.

History

The party was founded by John Triantafyllos on the 20th of March 2016. In its first days, it was known as the National Party of St Christopher (Greek:Εθνικον Κόμμα Αγίου Χριστοφόρου), but after a week, it changed its name to the current one.It dominated Saint Christophorian politics during the First Republic, with various periods of decline and revival. It was known for the continuous struggles between its internal factions, which ranged from moderate leftists to radical fundamentalists and right-wingers. The party was dissolved in June 2019,shortly after the end of the First Republic.

Ideology

Although the Monarchodemocrats were presenting themselves as a conservative party, that was hardly the case. The party was centrist on social issues, having both socially conservative and socially liberal policies. They supported LGBT rights other than the right to adoption and the right to a religious marriage. They were staunchly anti-secularists,promoting the influence of the Orthodox Church. They supported Christian education and moderate Biblical morality. They were also environmentalists, struggling for protecion of ecosystems, reconnection of humans with nature and ending the usage of plastic products. They were also anti-capitalists and promoted a command economy, with collectivization of production and state ownership over all economic assets of the country. They believed in liberal immigration.
