Good articles are considered to be the best articles on MicroWiki as determined by MicroWiki's editors. Before being listed as a good article, articles must be nominated and voted upon for accuracy, neutrality, comprehensiveness, structure and style. This project is designed to help improve article quality on MicroWiki and reward good article editing and creation. At present, there are 118 good articles out of a total of 37,343 articles in MicroWiki. A small blue symbol (This symbol symbolizes good content on MicroWiki.) on the top right corner of an article's page indicates that the article is of good quality.

Users that wish to be notified about new Good Article submissions are welcome to add Template:Userbox GA notifications to their userpage, to receive automated notifications periodically.

A good article is one that is:

  1. Well-written: its prose is engaging, coherent, clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct. There should be a minimal number of red links.
  2. Comprehensive: it neglects no major facts or details, is of substantial length but does not go into unnecessary detail, remaining focused on the main topic.
  3. Accurate: it is well-researched and its claims are verifiable and not in dispute.
  4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias.
  5. Illustrated: it should, where possible, be illustrated with appropriate images with succinct captions.
  6. Well-structured: it should have a concise introduction that summarises the topic and a system of hierarchical section headings with a substantial but not overwhelming table of contents.

Before nominating an article, nominators may wish to receive feedback by asking an administrator. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter to deal with objections during the GA process. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult the author and/or regular editors of the article prior to a nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly.

If a nominator feels that an article satisfies all the criteria, the article can be nominated by any user on the nomination page making sure that they provide the title of the article, a link to it and the signature of the nominating user. A user should only nominate one article each month. The article will then be reviewed by the community and voted on over a period of seven days after being nominated, with nominators and authors of the article being encouraged to respond to constructive criticism and to address objections promptly. While the number of votes in support or opposition are the main thing taken into account, the arguments on each side will also be considered. A nomination with several blank "support" votes and only a few "oppose" votes may still be rejected if those "oppose" votes make very good arguments against it. Neither will a simply majority be considered; broad consensus needs to be reached, which will be decided at the discretion of the administrator who closes the vote.

Following the seven day period, an administrator will determine consensus of the community and it will either be approved or rejected. If an article is approved, the community deems that it satisfies the criteria, and it will officially be listed as a Good Article. If an article is rejected, the article does not satisfy the criteria and an explanation of why will usually be provided by the reviewing users. Rejected articles should only be nominated again after one month following the previous nomination, and only if improvements have been made to improve the article since.

In the last week of each month, all Good Articles approved that month or the previous month will be voted on by the community. The approved Good Article with the highest number of votes (with admin consensus providing a deciding vote in the case of a tie) will be Featured on the Main Page for at least the first fourteen days of the new month (the Featured Article for the remainder of the month will be a previously approved Good Article decided by consensus of the admins, to ensure articles are not only ever Featured once).

Please familiarise yourself with the following criteria prior to voting. A good article is one that is:

  1. Well-written: its prose is engaging, coherent, clear and concise, and the spelling and grammar are correct.

Republic of Yusienia

Nominator: Xuanyi (talk) 13:03, 20 November 2022 (UTC)

  • Comment by nominator: I know it's far from being a good article, but I want to bring it up to par. So I'm here for advice.
  • COMMENT Visa Policy section is atrocious, don't list forty different nations like that. Miscellaneous grammar and spelling throughout. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 15:39, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

2020 Indonesian micronations shock

Nominator: Nabil nordamdie (talk) 08:26, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

Comment by nominator: I think this page has been comprehensively and extensively documenting an example of interactions between micronations and the macronational media and how the general public will respond to any micronation, which remains something challenging for micronationalists. Republic of Ajdinland

  • Comment by nominator: I think that my page fits most if not all of the criteria to recieve the "Good Article" status. Any feedback will definitely be appreciated. (PS: I edit the page on mobile, so I apologize for any inconveniences that you might encounter on PC)
  • Oppose: Definitely take a look at the page on a desktop if you ever get a chance, many images do not format well. Aside from that, even at first glance there are multiple issues. Many instances of inappropriate bolding and italicizing of text, there's a biographical article just shoved within this article, there's an "about this page" section which is completely unneeded, there's multiple formatting errors when it comes to linking, there's a WIP tag, and the article claims to be at "war" with another micronation that has been dissolved since 2021. These things need addressing, and I haven't even closely analyzed the writing of the article itself yet. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 18:43, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Kingdom of Juniperia

Nominator: Westavia 15:12, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment by nominator: Its fine if it does not get approved, I would just like some feedback :D
  • Oppose: Many formatting issues, both within the main infobox and sprinkled throughout the article. Misformatted headers, geography section that just says "Juniperia". Subdivisions table takes up a lot of space without providing much information (probably the coat of arms making it look so large). History section needs a lot of work, its confusing to read and see how everything fits together and flows into each other. Legislative and judicial sections should focus more on explaining the systems and maybe the history, bulleted lists of who make up the systems aren't entirely needed and don't fit very well in it's current state as it makes the article appear as though its substantially made up of those. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 18:48, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Federal Union of Wegmat

Nominator: UDCTC logo.svgBrian Griffin.png Prime Minister Cole Baird Brian Griffin.png My Talk Page  My contributations Flag of the Federal Union of Wegmat.svg 01:04, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

OPPOSE Looks good, but there are a few minor things that need to be addressed before I conduct a full review:

  • Technically speaking we could uncontroversially regard private property as de facto autonomous regions, however Wegmat claims territory which it does not administer nor control, such as national parks, forests and other private land. For instance Bushwood, which claims Wegmat Intermicronational Stadium, is owned/administered by the Cook County Land Bank Authority, with the stadium actively seating less than fourteen individuals to avoid trouble with the United States Law Enforcement. Furthermore, Golfia claims a golf course that I doubt Wegmat has established de facto control over. Recommend rephrasing.
  • There are two citation needed tags that need to be addressed.
  • Leon Montan will have to be changed per MicroWiki:Pseudonyms.
  • Lots and lots of errors with the citations!! Remember that they should all follow the same citation style. The template of citation 11 is broken while citations 4, 20, 22–25 are bare URLs. Some of the URL titles citing Wegmat General Broadcaster differ from their news article titles when these should be identical. Citation 6 ("Pictures of visit to the Conch Republic") might be a permanent dead link. 17 ("27th November quorm") has been successfully archived. I would implement these myself but I am not sure what citation style they should be in; the author usually decides this.

Other than my aforementioned concerns I have fixed the capitalisation of section headers. This article is definitely GA worthy with just a few edits after this. Please let me know once you have addressed the above concerns and I will get to writing a full review :P Additionally, I have an active GAN myself, J25, and would appreciate your two cents! @Wegmat: Are you able to take this yet? ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 16:18, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
The article has been updated:
  1. Wegmat as its whole is considered a de facto autonomous region because of its claims of public land. Only the land of Cenwister and parts of Gliffork and New Finland are owned by Wegmat Government members according to US law. Bushwood is the only piece of private land where a person might be charged for trespassing to enter. All other land is public land of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, which is mentioned many times. National Parks and National Forests mentioned in the article are Weg entities administered by WNFA and WNPA. A reasonable American reader would understand they are no national parks of forests in Northern Illinois, especially in an urban area where Wegmat is located. Because Golfia is operated by a private company, it is an autonomous province, not a province, it's stated in the article. When referring to Golfia geographically it is just called a golf course because it is easier to read Golfia rather than the full legal name Golfia Autonomous Province.
  2. Fixed citations
  3. All citations fit the same format, citation six is an Instagram post and may require users to sign in.
  4. The article is also up to date with information regarding the new presidency and recent foreign affairs

In my personal opinion, I believe this article is eligible for GA status. UDCTC logo.svgBrian Griffin.png Prime Minister Cole Baird Brian Griffin.png My Talk Page  My contributations Flag of the Federal Union of Wegmat.svg 14:59, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Happy October! Following my last line of boring GANs how about something different and more exciting—a road! Okay… but it has eight citations, lots of images (we see the entire road), is well-written and I am very happy with how I stylised the article. I plan on nominating some other New Eiffelic transport-related articles while I study more of MicroWiki's history and plan on what future articles to either copyedit or create next in relation to the discipline. Elarian-Alarian Conflict

Nominator: Ela'r'oech Charles (talk) 15:28, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

Just trying to make sure that this article is of any good quality. I've worked a lot on this article and it's related stubs/articles/etc. Overall, the goal here is to get advice on how to expand upon it or if there's anything I should do to help adjust it. I don't believe it will become a GA, I just hope it can look nicer overall after I nominate it and maybe one day I can get my second GA. Ela'r'oech Charles (talk) 15:28, 21 October 2022 (UTC)

  • Oppose: Very long and unjustified lead paragraphs, the statistic sections don't really add much, especially the table on missile launches (?), main article redirects don't use proper formatting, other sections don't fully explain the subject they are intending too, lots of quotes that don't really add much context, very long infobox (makes it hard to grasp the concept from a quick look), and from a simple look a lot of the stuff is not presented in a completely honest way (A hydrogen bomb that you have to click on a link for a then go through an article to learn its a water ballon or look for a note that isn't mentioned under the last sentence of the article?). See also section also includes weird formatting and articles that are already linked to in the main article things and there is no dedicated section for notes so it just shows up at the bottom. Lot's of work is needed especially considering one image is used and the rest of the blank space is made up of a "Series on" template. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 18:56, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Republic of Juniperia

Nominator: Iêsan Jéan 8:34 Wednesday November 2 2022 (PST)
  • OPPOSE @Westavia: Empty sections need to be expanded (GAs cannot have these). The first two sections of History are quite short, and if they cannot be expanded I would remove the section headers and just keep the text. Perhaps expand Under Westavia with more information on the "later stories" Juniperia was mentioned in, and in Under Mogunesia, elaborate more about what the Sack of Nesia was and how it impacted Mugunesia's decision regarding a possible military expedition in Juniperia. The lead of Politics and government could possibly be expanded with an elaboration of how Juniperia became a stern follower of Monroism and Ergatism, and if it has had any role in influencing said ideologies? As all offices in Government Offices are vacant I would remove the table and convert it into a simple text-only list; also, elaborate on what each office does—its functions, responsibilities, powers, etc. There are two Economy sections?? The article keeps referencing legends and myths, but they do not appear to be mentioned anywhere. I would love to hear more about them under Culture and media. Geography and climate is a decently lengthy section, and try to aim for all sections—where possible—to resemble it as a point of reference :) Citations should not be bare URLs. Outside of that, there are issues with improper capitalisation and incorrect punctuation that needs to be addressed, for example "…it into Gapla via a Special Autonomous Region, Following [should he lowercase] an executive order in August." I hope you will continue to work on this article! Also, I have seen you around MicroWiki these past few weeks, so thank you for your contributions :3 Additionally, I have two active GANs myself (J25 and Dead Tree Lane), and would appreciate your two cents! • Comment @ZabëlleNB: Now, I believe a full opposition to this article would be too harsh, as its a wonderful one. Maybe explain more about how the dissolution of New Eiffel affected the traffic on the road, as well as add in who or what traveled on the road. Otherwise I think, with the necessary revisions this article would be in tip-top shape for being a GA. And thank you for your contribution Mr Skye.

Rank Republic of MMBS

Nominator: G.Márton (talk) 19:58 sunday 06 nov 2022 (GMT)
COMMENT @G.Márton: This was really fun to read; thanks for writing it! Here are some of my points—I really like the lead, but it concerns mostly the legal and political aspects of the MMBS—I would add some short, summarised sentences regarding its history, culture and maybe demographics; most of the subsections under Before micronational history are fairly short—I recommend removing them all and converting the text into a paragraph or two; the "The Age of War" section is really short, perhaps you could expand upon it by summarising some info from Újborókaföld civil war; "Provinces" is really long and contains way too many subsections—the text is copied verbatim from the area's eponymous MicroWiki entries. The text should be made much shorter by summarising only the key points of each area—readers will look at their separate MicroWiki articles if they are looking for more info on them; the three instances of Rank Republic of MMBS in bold text in "Demographics" is not necessary; the subsections under "Important ethnicities" are not needed—not every new subject has to have its own subsection, this will clog up an article for readers; same point for Holidays, perhaps combine the holidays with little information on them into single paragraphs (i.e. "Second Saturday of April" is quite long, so it can justifiably be its own paragraph); under "Operation of the state", can "Legislation" be expanded at all?; merge "Domestic policy" into "Operation of the state". That is all for now—these are my largest concerns overall. This definitely has the potential to achieve GA status; for instance, every other section in Culture aside from the aforementioned Holidays is fantastically written and formatted, with each section having abundances of only relevant information on them. This is a good section to use as a guide for the rest of the article. Please ping me once you have addressed all of my concerns, and do not be afraid to politely refute any of my points or ask me any questions on my talk page! Have a good day, ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 05:30, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

NEUTRAL Minor things here and there, such as grammar and number usage, but for a presumably non-native English speaker it is nice. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 15:37, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Oppose: Decent information, but after you get past that this article is made up of a lot of tables that take up multiple screens. Capitalization isn't correct in a lot of section headers, lot's of "Part of series on" templates that aren't needed, formatting oddities like (see: Duchy of Slavonia) which is already linked to a couple sentences prior, a currency that just links to a wiki page on "money", empy columns in the tables, unneeded random photos in the tables, and an icon in the top right of the article that serves no purpose, a lot of sources go to wikipedia pages and almost none are formatted properly outside of being a link. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 19:03, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Comment by nominator: I spent a whole ten minutes or so on this but its perfect. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 15:17, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

  • Comment are there any sources available on the background of how E. Peterbus Unum was written/by whom? Maybe also add when the episode was aired and on what channel. Additionally, could Influence on micronationalism perhaps be expanded at all? Lastly, I have two other concerns—the sentence starting "Many of Peter's friends obtain various goods" should be split or avoid using however twice; job titles like Mayor, Officer etc should not be uppercase. ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 22:51, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
    • Comment @ZabëlleNB: I addressed your concerns except for the influence on micronationalism I could not due to the lack of information, it could be removed before becoming a GA, depending on administrative opinion. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 18:34, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Bedroom nation

Nominator: ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 06:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

Comment by nominator: Hoping to get all articles in Category:Types of micronations to GA status :)

  • Support: For some reason I always like putting the see also after the references but... very nice overview of the topic. Can't see anything I would really change, except maybe finding a different way to clarify the status of the nation mentioned in the image beside "(not a bedroom nation.)", but that's a very small thing in an otherwise good article. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 19:12, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Remove GA Status from Empire of Austenasia

Nominator: Sertor (Chat) 16:35, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Comment by nominator: I don't believe the page is fit as a Good Article in its present form. In its latest revision, the page prominently features deprecated templates, broken files, redlinks, and a cleanup tag that has been left for nearly three years (revision). The article needs to be updated to be considered a 'good article' again. Sertor (Chat) 16:35, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

  • SUPPORT: No disrespect to Jonathan, however in its current form, if it were up for a GA today, it would be rejected. It is a good length however there are lots of missing images and no history post-2015. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 18:13, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
    • COMMENT - The issues mentioned above should all be fixed now. I've been meaning to update the History section for ages now, so thanks for the nudge! Austenasia (talk) 08:26, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
    • OPPOSE Change to oppose per changes implemented. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 18:53, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
    • OPPOSE issue appears to have been fixed. ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 11:40, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
      • @ZabëlleNB:/@Devinpurcell: the issue regarding deprecated templates still remains – {{Infobox nation}} as noted in MP:NSI and MW style guidelines is not supposed to be used at all, with this page in particular being the only one on the site still using it. Additionally, it still features {{Available languages}} which has by and large been outmoded by the interwiki language expansion in the past year, and is generally been phased out in favour of conventional interwiki linking. Sertor (Chat) 15:13, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
        • Those are quite minor/technical issues. Ultimately, GAs on MW do not have to be perfect. Also, they should be relatively easy to fix. ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 15:20, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Commonwealth of Ballinfoyleburg

Nominator: Ludwig Collins 08:43 Wednesday 1 March 2023 (GMT)

I have taken feedback into account and improved this page.

  • Oppose: Infobox is hard to navigate and is very long, "part of series on" could easily be turned into a less instrusive navbox, tons of image are just discord screenshots, many sections that can be condensed especially considering many (especially in military) are a few sentences long, history needs to be reworked, it is unsustainable and unhelpful to have a month by month play by play of the history, tables take up a lot of space, and references are hardly formatted outside of being links. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 19:08, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
  • OPPOSE per above. The article is really cluttered but definitely as potential. For the infobox, I would probably remove 'Status' and 'Location' as redundant (per the map, the reader already knows where Ballinfoyleburg is); definitely shorten the 'Independence from the Republic of Roscamistan' part to include only very important key events; and is the Internet TLD necessary? There is one citation needed tag in "February 2023" that needs to be addressed; "One party era" is empty; remove all the sections under "National and state awards" so that it is only text and expand more on each award (separate them by paragraph if need be); and I reckon "Geography and climate" could be greatly expanded with a little effort. I reiterate Strubber's point regarding "Military". ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 11:50, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

Royal Order of the Sovereigns

Nominator: 𝄞 StrubberContributions 18:37, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Comment by nominator: This article covers everything about the order, and I think serves as a good example of what a page on an award should look like. Length may be an objection, but I feel like this covers everything while not relying on a list of recipients or displays of insignia to extend page length.

  • COMMENT Overall pretty good! Here are some of my concerns before I can vote support:
  • I would combine the two paragraphs in the lead;
  • "Currently there is only one inductee" – avoid using currently in an encyclopaedia—add as of when;
  • "order was founded, 20 February 2023." – repeating the date is redundant as already mentioned in the lead;
  • Recommend removing the sections under Privileges as the text is rather short. Perhaps separate them by four paragraphs instead;
  • In the infobox: "C&S (Current)" – is "(Current)" really necessary?;
  • "Membership in the order was the first and currently only way" – reads quite jagged—also, as of?;
  • "order are eligible for receive heraldic supporters" – should be to;
  • "at the time they received membership in the order." – recommend "at the time they receive membership in the order.";
  • "Currently the only member of the order" – as of?;
  • "The position of King of Arms is currently vacant." – see above. ZabëlleNB ♥︎ (formerly Z Luna Skye) (talk | edits) 16:35, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
@ZabëlleNB: Implemented a lot of the suggestions except two. I don't agree with removing the sections under privileges, I recognize they are short so they are formatted to not appear in the table of contents while still being there for people to easily find what they are looking for and understand the privileges at a glance without a bullet list. The second thing is the (Current) in the infobox, it is necessary due to how post-nominals work in the order, which is dependent on who the Sovereigns/Grand Masters are. - 𝄞 StrubberContributions 16:45, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
