The Republic of Litvania was a micronation located in Geneva, Switzerland. It was first established in 2010 as a hobby project. In 2015, it was officially established as a micronation and developed until July 2016, when the creators lost interest in it. At that time, the nation had 19 citizens, an active government and parliament with a drafted constitution, and territories worldwide. In November 2020, the micronational was merged by its creator into the Cheskgariyan-Litvanian Commonwealth.

History

The country was founded on December 25, 2015.

It saw no major activity until it declared its independence from the Swiss Confederation on the 27th of April 2016, and was renamed to Litvania. The country saw fast growth, quickly expanding its support for citizenship, building a website, and drafting a constitution.

In May to June, the first sessions of parliament were held, establishing the basic provisions of the government and electing a Prime Minister.

Throughout June to July, the founder lost interest as he moved on to establishing Litvania in the geofictional sphere. By August 2016 the country was virtually inactive and later that year the founder declared it officially inactive.

In January 2018, the founder promised to revive the project, but nothing was delivered on this promise. Only in January 2020, after being approached by Christian Newton of Letzembuerg and Montescano, did the country finally definitively start revival actions.
