His Excellency The Right Honourable Matthew Heslop is the incumbent First Minister and Parliamentary Triumvir of the Reylan Imperial Triumvirate, in addition to several additional ministerial mandates delegated by the Imperial Government.
Biography
Early life and Education
Matthew Heslop was born on the 26th November 1988. He attended Priory Lane Junior School before moving to Thomas Sumpter Comprehensive, where he became stereotyped as a both a nerd and a dreamer. Upon finishing his GCSEs, Matthew attended John Leggott College in North Lincolnshire where he studied Biology, Chemistry, Drama, Geology and Psychology.
Despite his interest in writing and acting, he chose to go to Bangor University in North Wales, where he studied Marine Biology and Oceanography, but, after three years on the course, decided to bring his tenure to an end, not finishing his degree.
He decided, however to remain in North Wales, and it was while he was here that he met the man known as Taeglan I Nihilus, and was introduced into the world of micronations.
The Reylan Imperial Triumvirate
It was not long after his initial introduction into the field that he applied for citizenship within the Reylan Imperial Triumvirate, and upon this being granted, he began to think about running for a position in the Imperial Parliament, a thought that would once been the very thing he sought to avoid.
On the 25th January 2012, he was declared the First Minister and Parliamentary Triumvir by the Emperor, taking up his position in the Imperial Parliament, and on the Council of Three. A personal statement from the Emperor noted Mr Heslop's enthusiasm, early dedication to his role and his 'excellent attitude towards the principles of micronationalism'.
Personal life
Besides his role as First Minister of the Empire, Mr Heslop has lived a very fruitful life, having worked a variety of jobs, including as a Stage Technician for Status Quo and Muse (among others). He is an avid actor and comedian, as well as a writer, with 4 plays (2 of which have been performed) and 17 sketches under his belt. The First Minister maintains a close friendship with both the Emperor and the Citizens Triumvir, his counterparts on the Council of Three.
He is also the CEO of Short Rock Productions, a company which he founded, which focuses on the creation, publication and distribution of comics and films.
