Mats Baumans (born 20 May 2005) is a micronational monarch, and head of the Royal army of De Dijle. He is one of the founders of Belgica and former Emperor of Belgica with his successor being Jules I, Mats is the only Belgican noblemen to be recognised as a former Fesmarian Emperor.
Mats has a succesful military career as head of the RDA, winning several battles in both the Belgican civil war and the conflict with Bolloheide. He introduced multiple reorganisations in the Imperial Belgican army while he was the Emperor of Belgica, reforming the IBA into the fighting force that it is today.
Mats started his political career in Fesmar and Belgica on 19 March 2019 when he became the governor of Kjorbergen, then a Fesmarian colony. He became a Prince of Fesmar on 14 May 2019. When Kjorbergen declared independence from Fesmar on 27 May 2019 it was declared the Kingdom of Belgica, Mats would be crowned King on 28 May. Once he was confirmed as the King in a local referendum on 2 June 2019 where he got a 81.25% approval rating, he began consolidating his power in Belgica and in the Belgican crownlands in Cornwall.
Mats announced his abdication as King of Belgica on 10 April 2020, and would later propose the splitting of Belgica into 2 states united through a union. On 14 April 2020, the Kingdom of De Dijle and the Kingdom of Groot-Brabant were created and Mats assumed the throne of De Dijle, becoming the first King of De Dijle after the civil war, following the agreement of forming a union with Groot-Brabant, he was appointed as crown Prince of Groot-Brabant.
Outside of Belgica Mats held numerous minor political offices in nations in Cornwall but the most notable one was the position of Prime Minister in Aspen
