Manolis Afentoulis, OBM, OM, PAMH, PAHJ, OCSM, ODHE, OR, et al. (Greek: Μανώλης Αφεντούλης; pronounced [man'olis afe'dulis]; born 25 February 1998) is the current Basileus of Mouzilo, a prominent politician in the Ashukov Federation, and one of the most prominent Greek micronationalists. He is the longest serving Minister of Ashukovo, holding the Ministry of Culture since 10 March 2014.
Afentoulis was born in Athens, Greece, on February 25, 1998. His interest in geopolitics emerged early in his life and in 2006 he established the fictional Republic of Kormenia, the so-called forefather of Mouzilo.
After dealing with Kormenia for over four years, Afentoulis decided to establish the Republic of Pangratia accompanied by friends and close relatives, in March 2010. He served as the nation's leader bearing the title "Regus". Pangratia remained relatively unrepresented online, however the project kept going for about a year.
During his leadership, Pangratia developed its own language, Niitic (Niiticy). Niitic played a large role in the history of Pangratia's successor, Mouzilo, during its early days.
A year after Pangratia's establishment, the nation was quietly dissolved.
Crown Prince of Mouzilo
On May 19, 2012 Afentoulis and his cousin Manolis Triantafyllou established the Kingdom of Mouzilo. The two men agreed that Triantafyllou would become the King, whereas Afentoulis would be the Crown Prince, as well as the Minister of Territory, the Minister of the Crown, the Minister of War and Defence and the Minister of Electronic Governance. Throughout his tenure as the Crown Prince, Afentoulis' loyalty to the Crown was beyond doubt. However Triatafyllou's handling of several issues, such as the Niitic language issue and the so-called "Markos Apostolopoulos Case" caused dissatisfaction to several of Mouzilo's citizens, leading to Afentoulis organising a coup and overthrowing his cousin on December 2012.
After the coup, and even though he was the legal heir to the throne, Afentoulis wasn't enthroned immediately for two reasons: Firstly, he wanted to set up a temporary Government, called "Temporary Imperial Mouzilo Administration" (TIMA, ΠΑΔΜ in Greek) to decide how the nation would be led from that point on. Secondly, as he couldn't become the the ruler of the country because he was under 18, the age limit had to be reduced, something TIMA achieved. Subsequently, the uncodified Constitution and some laws were altered, while the establishment of several diplomatic relations were spearheaded by Afentoulis. During this whole effort, he was fully supported by the National Party.
Reign of Mouzilo
A couple of days after TIMA's goal was achieved, Afentoulis was crowned Emperor Emmanuel the Second and Mouzilo became an Empire. This new era for Mouzilo was quite successful with new deals, partnerships and diplomatic relations being signed. This era also saw the political system being changed a few times, without that, however, having any effect on overall national stability.
Between December 15, 2013 and October 12, 2014, Afentoulis temporarily gave up his Imperial titles in favour of republican ones, as at the time that was necessary for Mouzilo's admission in the Ashukov Federation. When Afentoulis became the Tsar of Ashukovo the Imperial titles were restored and changed in order to reflect more closely the Byzantine tradition. At that time, Afentoulis switched his title from Emperor to Basileus.
Tsar of Ashukovo
On October 12, 2014 Afentoulis was elected Tsar of the Tsardom of Ashukovo, a position he de jure held until January 29, 2017. Upon his coronation he adopted the title "His Royal Highness, by the Grace of God, Tsar of the Ashukovs Emmanuel I". Although legally an absolute monarchy, Afentoulis was very open to the advice of his associates and of the Duma.
During the first months of his reign he was exceptionally active, however with the lack of interest of the people around him, he gradually started being less active. He ceased activity in Ashukovo around February 2015, and finally abdicated on January 2017 to give place for the second Ashukov Federation.
Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ashukovo
On April 11, 2014 the Orthodox Church of Ashukovo was formed. Afentoulis being the most prominent Orthodox Christian in Ashukovo, he took the Church's leadership and adopted the name Christodoulos I in honor of Christodoulos of Athens. Under his supervision the Church held its first ever liturgy on Easter Day that year, with several Ashukovs, both Orthodox and not, observing the occassion.
On January 25, 2017, he disestablished the Church and abdicated in favor of the Orthodox Association of Ashukovo, an Orthodox organisation he established and currently heads.
