MFA America Cup 2014 Agnorr Host Bid

The Republic of Agnorr is a bidding nation for 2012 or 2014 MFA America Cup one of the first micronational soccer tournaments for the MFA. The submittion of the bid was approved the AFF Chairman and President Zachary S. The bid was submitted to the President of the MFA, Barnaby Hands. It is not yet known if any other bids will be submitted although Burkland are also possible hosts.

The Agnorr American Cup bid is currently the only bid with 1 confirmed stadium and 5 other that are being considered to also host matches. Each field is youth sized and located within or just outside of the Borders of Agnorr. There is also one non-football specific field that could also be used if needed. That stadium is a gridiron field with seats for spectators.

Bidding Schedule

  • 31 December 2010: Host bidding closes.
  • 1 January - 30 June 2011: Bid files must be submitted.
  • 1 July - 30 September 2011: Voting opens.
  • 1 October 2011: Host nation announced.
  • 31 December 2011: Entries close.
  • March 2012 - October 2013: Qualifying
  • December 2013: Group Stage Draw
  • June 2014: AMERICA CUP

Travel

There are many hotels within 20 minutes of most of the stadiums. Also noted that Agnorr has an International Airport within there borders. That airport is N.E. Philadelphia International. If you plan to stay in downtown Philadelphia there is also and International Airport just South of the busiest section in the city. If you aren't willing to pay money to take a flight there are many ways to get to Agnorr. Interstate 95 is a border of Agnorr and also a great way to travel to and from stadiums. There are also many taxi services in and around the area.

Proposed Match Dates

These are the proposed dates of the matches and venues in which they would be held at. It was set up similar to the World Cup format since there is no word on the exact number of teams.

  • Group Stages June 6–8 | Venue: Devils Stadium and Mayfair Ground
  • Quarterfinals June 10-June 11 | Venue: Comly Rd Stadium and Rhawn Field
  • Semifinals June 12–13 | Venue: Rhawn Field
  • Third Place Match June 15 | Venue: Comly Rd. Stadium
  • Finals June 16 | Venue: Abraham Lincoln Field

Stadiums

In December 2011, Agnorr identified 7 fields in 6 districts as possible venues for the tournament. On December 1, 2011 the list was further trimmed down to 6 fields in 5 districts. On December 2, 2011 the Agnorr Bid Committee narrowed the 6 districts down to 5 as the official host districts for Agnorr's Bid for the 2014 America Cup where announced.
