The Micronational Cooperation Group (MCG) is a micronational organisation which was founded to secure closer bonds between a circle of friend-nations, centered around micronationalists who are mainly alumni of or are in the Skype or Facebook chats under the name The Ragged Flagon, although people who are not in it and have close ties to Flagon regulars are considered to be part of the greater circle as well. More specifically, it is to strengthen cooperation and thus bonds between members, and to collaborate on a variety of projects. The MCG also offers help to members, and experienced micronationalists can give them tips on how to improve their conduct or their nations.

History

The MCG was originally proposed by Paravian regional politician NG after Emperor Stephen of Abelden, and after discussions with emperor Patrick Renwick of Paravia, Radia Crann of Humanytaria, Gabriel N. Pelger of the Usian Republic, and emperor Shiro of Zenrax.

Soon, nations such as Mcarthia, Covanellis, and Lurk joined as the MCG took off. Currently, Michael Ònff is writing a charter. After the charter, work will begin on the MCG's first project, which is still to be determined.

On 22 October 2015, the first edition MCG's first official project, Micropages, was launched to the Micronation.org community. It will soon be extended to include all active nations.

Purpose and Structure

The MCG's goal is to strengthen ties between the nations of the MCG and the Ragged Flagon, and facilitate future close cooperation on certain projects. It’s also to help people solve problems with their nations.

It is a very loose union or cooperative, and does not want any nation's government to change on a mandatory basis. All nations are essentially not bonded to the organisation, and may leave anytime. They also do not have to establish relations mutually of any sort with members. Once it has at least 20 members, it will establish six departments under their respective secretaries - Censuses and Statistics, Projects, National Advice, Foreign Relations, Recruitment and Media.

Application

To apply, one must send an email with a resume of what one has done in micronationalism to the Secretary of Recruitment. When he receives the application, he will post it on the MCG Forums for voting.

If four to five of the seven Central Council members vote in favour, it is considered a pass.

Member states

The following are members of the MCG. These members are granted full permission on discussions within the organisation. Each member is allowed to nominate one representative, usually the head of state, to the MCG Central Council. However, they may be vetoed by the other council members. There can be up to seven council members, but they usually have to be a true part of the inner circle of the organisation before they can be nominated. The Central Council is allowed to vote on all other motions, as well as new charter rules. They also can penalise, suspend or expel members from the MCG in the MCG Court, a board on the organisation's forum.

Most member nations are considered merely as observers. No member states have mandatory relations, and cannot vote on new charter rules and applications, or penalise other members. The Central Council votes on them. However, all members may vote on the new secretary, as well as project ideas. As the "founding fathers" of the MCG, Abelden and Paravia have permanent Council spots, but will not have any more power than the five rotating council members, who rotate every three months. Later, Zenrax and Nedland were confirmed as permanent council members, though Nedland lost its seat following its dissolution.

Following the dissolution of Nedland, the Central Council and Secretary posts were reshuffled, with Whestcorea, Archmidian and Cinnamon Creek rotating into the Central Council, succeeding the Usian Republic, Humanytaria and Lundenwic respectively.
