The nation's name has no meaning nor history.
History
Foundation
It was founded in 2022 on May 25 by the 2 Goddesses with the goal of creating a nation what puts the focus on purity and cuteness.
Politics and government
Lunataria is a one-party state with it's own ideology called Lillism which is partially based on Leninism but is considered Centrist because it contains a few Rightist views as well.
Law and order
Lunataria has it's own civil law system. Every law is taken very seriously and punishments can even reach death penalty in some cases (Pedophilia, animal abuse, smuggling in pornographic content in any way, etc.) and is carried out by the 2 Goddesses.
Military
Lunataria's military stands from the 2 Goddesses in peaceful times and in a war scenario the whole population gets drafted excluding children under the year of 16.
Geography and climate
Lunataria's base island, Jan Mayen consists of two geographically distinct parts. The northern part has a round shape and is dominated by the 2,277 m (7,470 ft) high volcano with its large ice cap (114.2 km2 or 44 sq mi), which can be divided into twenty individual outlet glaciers. The southern part is narrow, comparatively flat and unglaciated. Its highest elevation is 769 m (2,523 ft). Jan Mayen is a microcontinent what was originally part of the Greenland Plate, but now forms part of the Eurasian Plate.
