The Ambassador of Vishwamitra to the Islamic Republic of Iran (Hindi: इस्लामी गणराज्य ईरान में विश्वामित्र के राजदूत, Persian: سفیر ویشوامیترا در جمهوری اسلامی ایران) is an officer of the Vishwamitran Ministry of External Affairs and the head of the royal diplomatic mission in Iran in Tehran. The job has the rank and status of an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and is currently Shayan SJ, who has held the position since the establishment of the mission on 26 September 2021. The official title of the head of the diplomatic mission is His Illustrious and Royal Vishwamitran Majesty's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The ambassador's work is assisted by multiple consulates throughout the country that have visiting and reporting responsibilities, as well as consular and trade matters for the embassy.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the ambassador include being the principal representative of the Rashtradhyaksh and the Government of Vishwamitra to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also to present Vishwamitran policies to the Iranian-born citizens and to the government, and to report Iranian policies and views to the crown and the government, and also to inform all Vishwamitran citizens regarding all major events and news from Iran. The duties also include directing diplomatic activity in support of trade and for the provision of consular support to Vishwamitran citizens in Iran and also observe and oversee cultural relations between the two countries.
