Types of law

Imperial law

Imperial laws emanate directly from the monarchy, representing the highest form of authority in Ela'r'oech. These laws are decreed by the ruling monarch or the imperial family and are considered binding on all citizens and territories within the Empire. There is no higher law, with not even the Supreme Court of the Empire holding the authority to challenge them.

Imperial laws often address matters of national significance, such as matters of state, overarching policies, and decisions that require the direct involvement of the imperial authority. They serve as the foundational legal principles that shape the overall governance of the Empire.

Legislative law

Legislative laws undergo a systematic process of proposal, debate, and voting within the parliament. These laws reflect the collective will and decisions of the elected representatives, ensuring a democratic and participatory approach to legislation.

Judicial law

Imperial and legislative laws set the overarching principles, legislative processes refine and adapt these principles to contemporary needs, and the judiciary ensures the faithful application of these laws in individual cases.
