The Province of Laiusa is the sixth oldest and 3rd largest province of the Micronational Empire of Thebes. It is located in Lake Gaston.
Etymology
Laiusa was named by King Charles I on October 28, 2019 for King Laius, legendary king of Greek Thebes and father of Oedipus.
History
The islands that would become Laiusa were first made aware in Thebes after several instances where they were confused with the Garf Island Chain or thought to be part of the Province of Garf. The government officially discerned the islands from Garf. During the Era of Expansion and Conquest, about 2 months into Charles I reign, the Laiusa islands were one of several proposed provinces. Government
Laiusa, like most other provinces, holds elections for its governor. However, because the current governor was appointed by the king, and his term is not up yet, Laiusa has not yet elected a governor. Laiusa has had two governors it its history.
