Lacussia (also known as The Republic of Lacussia) is a micronation located within the Canadian province of Quebec consisting of four uninhabited small islands as well as a small portion of privately owned exclave (the President's house, which serves as the nation's capital). Lacussia also has some online territory (its very own Discord server). The nation was founded on the ideas of Fulfilment in Life and Workers' Rights. The main goals of the government are to push for environmentalist ideals while also pushing for a socialist ideology to stop the negative impacts of capitalism on the planet and its people.
With the country's land only being 0,131 square kilometres (or about 0,051 square miles), Lacussia is a microstate. For comparison's sake, Vatican City is almost 4 times as big as Lacussia.
Etymology
Lacussia's name is simple. The word Lacus is Latin for lake. The suffix ia means land of. The nation's name therefore literally means Land of lake.
History
The nation was formed on November 1, 2021, at 8:45 AM EST time, by one college student and former political candidate after dissatisfaction with the increasingly neoliberal direction Canada was taking.
On November 3, 2021, roughly 2 days after the micronation's creation, an official Discord server was inaugurated. The country's number of citizens grew from 1 to 8 in the hours following this event.
Later that same day, Lacussia's president announced he claimed the rest of his house (not just his room). He did that to avoid, in his words : always having to go to Canada to brush my teeth everyday (the bathroom used to be unclaimed by Lacussia).
The currency is currently the Canadian dollar, although the nation's president has discussed the possibility of Lacussia creating its very own currency in the future.
Government and politics
Lacussia maintains a fusion of democratic socialist and green ideals. The respect of every citizen is a priority for Lacussia's head of state.
Lacussia considers itself a Republic, rejecting Queen Elizabeth II's reign as head of state.
Lacussia opposes NATO and NORAD membership with the President wanting a foreign policy based on peace. Therefore, the country has no active military.
Lacussia is currently in the process of ratifying its constitution, with this document speculating that every important decision must be adopted by a nationwide referendum and that socialism is an important system for Laccussia .

Lacussia held their first election on November 16, 2021, roughly 2 weeks after their creation. Incumbent President and Micronation founder Blue4740 retired from his role as head of state, citing the need to spend more time studying in college.
Following the tie, a tie-breaker election between the top two contenders (People's Power and Green Workers' Front) was held. This election saw a higher turnout than the actual presidential election, with 66.67% of Lacussians voting. However, ironically enough, the tie-breaker election ended in a tie as well, with each party getting 6 votes (or 50.00% each). After this situation, outgoing president Blue4740 flipped a coin to allocate the President and vice-president roles in Lacussia. People's Power won the Presidential role and Green Workers' Front won the Vice-Presidential role.

Culture
Notable pastimes in Lacussia include kayaking, hiking, etc. The country has no roads, so in this sense, transportation is very limited (car-free).
On the topic of cuisine, the country's official beverage is Coffee, perfect for keeping working-class people awake during early mornings. Veganism is also encouraged, though not imposed upon the nation's citizens. Some of the country's most commonly eaten dishes include maple syrup oatmeal for breakfast and fried tofu with plum sauce for lunch or dinner.
The population are early risers, with Lacussia's president trying to wake up before 6:00 AM EST every day, succeeding most days of the week.
