As the main airport in Fyrinia, it is a hub for all of the micronation and the main connection with the rest of the micronational world. It is a hub airport for the BlueLines, Fyrinian state airlines.
It used to be a domestic airport until 2010. It became an international airport in 2010 after the pressure of governments of the Fyrinian Autonomy. It is also used for state and government flights, however, the government also uses smaller Strunkovice nad Blanicí Airport, a state-owned airport located in Czechoslovakia, about 14 kilometres to the north from Kirilmaz.
The airport was largelly modernized from 2010 to 2019. It uses temporary passenger terminal, as a new one was under the construction. The modernization was finished in 2019.
