The Kingdom of Syldavia is a micronation located in Quebec, Canada. It was founded in 2020 by Aidan Clifford. Syldavia does not claim any land, the nation is closely related to Georgienstine.
History
Following pressure from the general population, on June 25, 2020 the king of Syldavia, Raphaël Olivier I declared he would abdicate and pass on the throne to his younger brother Alexandre Olivier I. After his abdication, Olivier would set out the plans for a presidential republic named Georgienstine. His younger brother was asked to enact these reforms. Following this decision, Aidan Clifford, an avid proponent of royalism announced the recreation of Syldavia.
On April 28, 2021, Raphael Olivier I abdicated the throne and gave it to Vincent I. The government is currently classified as a government in exile.
Restoration Movement
On 29 March 2022, Representative Sean Dunkerque founded the Syldavian Restoration Caucus, a group advocating for the return of the Syldavian Monarchy to Georgienstine. However, it quickly fell apart due to the realisation that restoration was impossible.
