The Petkyny district is claimed Slovaniaand governed under Chinese Law as opposed to Slovanian Law.

Culture and Ethnicity

Slovanian culture is diverse and most reflect on the techniques and cultures of their ancestors. Slovanian culture stems from Ukrainian, Russian and Chinese culture. Chinese New Year is traditionally celebrated by the ethnic Slovanian-Chinese people during the same time as the ethnic Chinese people. Other festivals traditionally celebrated include Christmas (including Christmas Eve), Orthodox Christmas (early January), Easter, Valentines Day, Pancake Day, Halloween, New Years (every Dec 31st and Jan 1st) Slovanian National Day of Independence (Oct 1st every year).

National Anthem

The Slovanian national anthem is also known as "My Motherland" (Slovanian: Моя Родастина). The lyrics were written by His Majesty King and Prime Minister Kevin Zhu, and His Honorable Chancellor and Deputy Prime Minister Yuhan Guo. The anthem reflects on Slovanian culture and the passion of the Slovanian people for helping their country and government, as well as the achievements that the Government of Slovania has achieved for their people. It is also one of the first micronational anthems in the world to have each verse written in a different, but official languages of Slovania. Verse 1 is written in Slovanian, followed by verse 2 which is written in German, followed by verse 3 in Mandarin Chinese.

The music counterpoint is not copyrighted by Slovanian law, but the lyrics are strictly copyrighted from use under Slovanian Executive Order 8. Although the Slovanian law does state that the anthem should be performed respectfully and for performers not to cause an offence, the music arrangement can be used and modified freely; should anyone try to deface the anthem and its lyrics and/or to defame the Slovanian Government using the anthem in any way, a penalty of an imprisonment of a minimum 10–15 years will be issued.

Tourism and Tourist Attractions

Slovania has a lot of tourist attraction, with the Fragrant Hills, within the Chinese Enclaves, being the most popular and beautiful scenic attractions to visit.

His Majesty King Kevin Zhu was born to Han Chinese parents in the Petkyny area, before Taurimania claimed the land and is considered 100% Han Chinese at birth, but since the establishment of Slovania, he is now considered an ethnic Slovania (in Slovania only), rather than Han Chinese (outside of Taurimania and China). He is the only ethnic Slovanian of the Democratic Republic of Slovania. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Yuhan Boliangovich Guo is of Han Chinese ethnicty. Both governmental leaders hold dual Chinese and Slovanian Citizenship.

Languages of Slovania

Slovania, as a diverse country, has three official languages, where Slovanian (often referred as Slovane) is the main language spoken and used Slovanian state side and mostly governmental wise. Chinese language (Mandarin), along with German language are amongst the most widely spoken languages in Slovania, where the Chinese ethnic group forms the dominant of ethnic groups in Slovania; both of these two languages are official state languages of Slovania. Chinese language (Mandarin) is spoken and used in the XiangShan district territory city of Petkyny. His Majesty King Kevin Davidovich Zhu of Slovania said in his latest speech, that on behalf of the Slovanian Government, we support an inter-ethnic micronation and that allSlovanians should be encourged to learn more than one language apart from their Slovanian mother tongue and German.

English is the least widely spoken, though 40% of the Slovanian population are fluently in English, with the most Dominant in the two capital cities, and 0% English spoken in the Xiangshan district.

His Majesty Kevin Davidovich Zhu is multilingual. Apart from his mother tongue, Mandarin Chinese, he is fluent in English, German, Slovanian. He is conversational in German, Russian and Welsh. His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Yuhan Boliangovich Guo is bilingual. Apart from his mother tongue, Mandarin Chinese, he is also fluent in English. He is currently undergoing a course of learning the Slovanian language.

Slovanian cuisine is generally a made up of a mixture of spicy and fragrant ingredients, which reflect on its harsh wintery cold climate during the three months of December to February. Traditional Slovanian winter cuisine is often very spicy and uses Sichuan chilli and Sichuan peppercorn as its base ingredient, and Slovanian summer cuisine is usually a variation of current Ukrainian and Russian cuisines such as Golptsi and Cyrlniki.

Meatballs are a delicacy in Slovania, and is enjoyed all year round in all states. The variations of meatball can be seen clearly and reflects on the diverse ethnicity of Slovanian people. In Petkyn, the meatballs are more of the Chinese Asian style, whereas the meatballs from the states of Vorkhatsia and Alrai Khrun are more European styled, comparable to the Danish/German Frikadeller or Swedish meatballs.

The National drink of Slovania is matcha latte. This green tea based latte is enjoyed all year round.

Slovania Gastronomy and Cooking Techniques

Slovanian gastronomy reflects on three main ethnic groups of Slovania: Chinese, Russian and English. Many traditional Slovanian cuisine adopts cooking practices and methods of mainly Chinese and European (i.e. French, Russian..etc..) cooking techniques, in particular, stir fry, steaming, French sauce techniques and Russian cuisine cooking techniques, though French cooking techniques are often used in the making of famous sauces, dips and condiments. French, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian cuisine are among the most popular inter-ethnic choice of cuisine enjoyed by Slovanian people.

Slovanian Festive Gastronomy

During Christmas, the traditional Slovanian Christmas bread Rokhlyeb (Slovane: роһлеб, from the phrase рождественский һлеб, meaning Christmas bread) is usually eaten. The first Rokhlyeb was originally made in the shape of a wreath, filled with dried wild fruits and dried berries along with ground nutmeg, cinnamon, ground clove and ground all spice. Nut, plain and herb flavoured versions are also available, though the bread is usually shared and usually served with traditional mulled wine (does not matter if alcoholic or not). Slovanians usually dunk their Rokhlyeb in mulled wine as a traditional blessing due to their Taurimanian Orthodox beliefs.

Weather and Climate

Slovania has a diverse climate. Its territory located within the UK generally suffers a harsh cold winter with some snow, but not annual snow. The lowest temperature recorded in that territory is -5oC and the highest being 12oC during winter.
