The Kingdom of Edenia was a short-lived micronation that declared independence from Australia on April 16, 2014, and dissolved back into Australia on 16 June 2014. It was an enclave of Australia and was founded by James-Robert Knight, who took the title of King. It consisted of one small house in Healesville, Australia, and had an estimated 11 people claiming citizenship.
History
The Kingdom of Edenia started as an idea in James Knight's head, while his friends on IRC were talking about Non-FIFA football. He decided he wanted to create his own nation and started researching. A few hours later, the government website was up, a claim was made, citizens joined and Edenia was born.
Edenia originally claimed most of Healesville, Australia, but rescinded that claim on 19 April 2014, instead claiming sovereignty over King James I's home instead.
On 18 May 2014, the King decided to allow democracy to create laws by forming the House of Representatives. The election date will be June 27, 2014.
On 16 June 2014, King James I announced via the government's front page that the Edenia would be dissolving back into Australia, quoting inactivity, lack of connection and other things for the dissolution.
On 6 July 2014, Edenia's successor state, Vyktory was founded.
