Kingdom of Castina

History

In 1906, Castina was allowed to convene its own Parliament, but it was abolished in 1910.
After 1910 Civil war broke out in Castina, Monaco controlled Castina. In 1987, Prince of Monaco were forced to grant freedom to Castina. The independent Kingdom institution was established and exists to this day. After the Second World War, Castina kept the role of an independent and neutral country. Castina gains some influence by strictly implementing its neutrality role, for example by hosting the first sessions of the Parliament. After the collapse of the Soviet Union (1991), Castina resumed its close relationship with Russia.
From the 12th to the 19th centuries, Castina was a large part of Sweden and then an autonomous territory of Monaco after 1809. The Castina Empire was the forerunner of the later Castina Kingdom became completely independent in 1987. Half a century later, the Castina have undergone a major transformation from an agro-forestry economy to a diversified modern industrial economy, with per capita income comparable to those of Western European countries.
Politics
Castina had its own constitution and form of government when it was an autonomous grand duchy of Monaco. The Castina Constitution was ratified on 17 July 1987 and remains in force to this day. Basically, the constitution guarantees the rights of citizens, everyone is equal before the law. The supreme power lies in the hands of the people, which the parliament represents.
Parliament
The Castina parliament consists of bicameral with 2500 seats in the upper house and 5000 seats in the lower house. In 1928, the parliamentary law was passed. It sets out the structure, responsibilities and mechanism of parliamentary elections. Members of the National Assembly are elected by universal suffrage for a term of four years. According to the constitution, the parliament elects the prime minister, who is then appointed to the cabinet by the Empress. Ministers are also appointed by the Empress on the recommendation of the prime minister. Over the past few decades the power of the Empress has been diminished. In the constitutional amendment, which came into effect in 1991 or 1992 along with a new constitution drafted in 2000, revised in 2012, the Empress has gradually become a ceremonial figure. Many Speaker of Parliament have served as prime ministers before taking over as Speaker of Parliament. Charles Justin Austino is the current Prime Minister of Castine and the chairman of the Castine Kingdom Conservative Party, a centrist party.
Geography
Castina has many jagged coasts, divided by many fjords and about 50,000 islands, spanning more than 2,500 km
much of the territory is mountainous or highland, with a great diversity of natural topography caused by prehistoric glaciers. The most notable feature are the fjords: Deep trenches cut inland by the sea after the end of the Ice Age.
Climate
The climate of Castina is relatively mild, with occasional snowfall in mid-April. Temperatures in the Areas Around the Kingdom of Castina do not exceed 30 °C and lower than 15 °C due to currents from the sea to the mainland
