Joost Heystek Albertain[note 1] Smith OLN or J. Heystek A. Smith (16 August 2006), legally and commonly known as jOOST Smith in New Eiffel, is the Prince of New Eiffel, and is a New Eiffelic right-wing politician, activist and former Master general of His Royal Army of New Eiffel. Joost is also the leader and Prime Minister candidate of the Yellow Party. Joost has been involved in several micronational wars and is responsible for starting the New Eiffel Civil War, and playing a large part in the Reunification of New Eiffel. Joost is also an amateur historian.
Joost was born in London, where he grew up until the Republic of New Finland was established. Joost learned how to shoot an air rifle and pistol at Kingston Target Shooting School, and studied politics for a short while at New Eiffel School. Joost trained to be a royal guard for the King of New Eiffel, however was made the Supreme General of HRANE instead on June 2018. Joost is one of the two recipients for the Order of the Lion. Joost is also known for the ((((Joke)))) meme on MicroWiki@Discord.
Joost was born on 16 August 2006 to Louis Smith and Daleen Smith in Kingston, United Kingdom, a town in Greater London. The third and last of three children, Joost dropped out of New Eiffel School in order to work as the Supreme General for His Royal Army of New Eiffel. Joost is an Anglican Christian, and a member of the Church of New Eiffel.
Joost committed treason of the highest degree when he started a civil war, and attacked President Zarel Smith in his office. The President quickly grabbed a wooden sword and defended himself by hitting Joost in the leg. Joost was suspended as Supreme General for one month.
On 9 August 2018, Joost was made the Minister of War of New Eiffel.
Joost was awarded the Order of the Lion in May 2019 for his bravery and contribution in politics.
Joost established the Yellow Party and the Socialist Yellow Party on 12 September 2018. Joost dissolved the Socialist Yellow Party on 24 December, one day before the end of the 2018 General Election. In an interview, Joost stated "I dissolved the Socialist Yellow Party because I simply changed my political views. The Yellow Party will now be my main party." Following the dissolution of the Socialist Yellow Party, the Socialist Scandinavian Party gained all four of its seats after a parliament vote. This was decided since it was the only other socialist party at the time.
Joost was made a delegate to the Grand Unified Micronational on 18 July 2019, and optionally stepped down on 10 September. Joost was re-delegated on 2 January 2020
Political views and ideology
Joost describes himself as a conservative Christian, and criticises radical feminism, political correctness and Islam. The New Eiffel Times describes Joost has being an Anarcho-capitalist, which Joost has stated is incorrect, as his party supports laissez-faire capitalism, a similar but different ideology.
Joost has a long history of activism in New Eiffel, such as advocating for gay rights. Most notably, on 12 July 2018, Joost burned all of his Łight Net banknotes in protest against the number plating and ID system used for bicycles at the time. He was charged with burning money, which is a crime if you do not possess a relevant legal permit. He was fined an unspecified amount of money, which he did not pay. The court case was later dismissed.
