The Independent Republic of Caeserea is a self-declared nation state, or micronation, which is not recognized by any macronations or major geopolitical organizations. The micronation first declared independence from the Free Republic of Florania on 18 October 2020, but was re-annexed the same day.
It was re-established on 17 January 2021, declaring independence from Bonumland in protest of the Bonumlandian monarchy established by Empress Isabella I, claiming the entirety of the city-district of Florania. Caeserean independence is recognized by the West River Confederation, the Republic of Wendatia, and the Seabourgian Commonwealth; though not by Bonumland itself.
History
First republic (October 2020)
Caeserea first seceded from Florania on 18 October 2020. It operated as a de facto client state of Wendatia. It was declared independent from Florania in protest of Addison Dillon's ascension to the presidency in a recall election, which Caeserean governor Jonas Rhymer said was unconstitutional. It was re-annexed the same day it seceded.
Second republic (January 2021 - present)
The idea for creation of the Second Independent Republic of Caeserea was thought of on 17 January 2021. Ali Farrokhzad; Benjamin Pickles; Isaiah David; and Jonas Rhymer were discussing whether or not Burdette's removal from office of President of Florania was unconstitutional. Rhymer then brought that he had declared Caeserea independent after Burdette's removal, and he and Farrokhzad decided to do so again, this time claiming all of Florania, in protest of Isabella I's creation of a monarchy in Bonumland. Pickles, the premier of Florania, agreed.
Farrokhzad; Rhymer; and Pickles proposed the Wright Ultimatum to Isabella, which she ultimately rejected. In accordance with the Wright Ultimatum, Caeserea formally seceded from Bonumland, though deemed unconstitutional by the Bonumlandian Constitution.
