The Grand Duchy of Kievan Rus is a self-proclaimed micronation and Empire that claims to be the successor to the great Kievan Rus, the predecessor state to what is now the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine. It was re-established with a fresh and stable government 781 years later. It is ruled by Grand Prince Vladimir l.

History

A Viking named Oleg in the present-day country of Ukraine took over the cities of Kiev and Smolensk which would start the first East Slavic empire. After Rurik was invited to rule in Novgorod, he established the Rurikid Dynasty and his successors took over Kievan Rus which encompassed some parts of Modern day Russia, all of Belarus and Ukraine even stretching to the Black Sea and the Baltics as well as to present-day Finland. Sviatoslav I expanded the empire to its best height. Vladimir the Great, with his own baptism, introduced Christianity in Kievan Rus. His sons would go on to make the Russkaya Pravda. In a state of decline, regional conflict within Kievan Rus became more common. After the Mongol bombardment and invasion, the empire eventually disintegrated into modern-day Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia.

Etymology

Kievan Rus means " Land of the Slavs".

The Duchy is ruled by the Grand Prince also known as Tsar and by the Petrislav-Vojislavljevic family.
