The city of Gaussberg, is the capital of the Grand Duchy of Gaussland. It is located between Cape Penck, at 87°43'E, and Cape Filchner, at 91°54'E in Wilhelm II Land, Antarctica. The area was discovered on 22 February 1902 during the Gauss expedition (1901-1903) by Erich von Drygalski and where Drygalski's expedition had their camp until 8 February 1903 is Gaussberg, a 370 metre high extinct volcano which was named after the mathematician and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauss.

Gaussberg is an extinct volcanic cone, 370 metres (1,214 ft) high, fronting on Davis Sea immediately west of the Posadowsky Glacier in Kaiser Wilhelm II Land in Antarctica and is the capital of the Grand Duchy of Gaussland since its annexation to the Kingdom of Ruthenia in 30 June 2015.
