Foreign Office (Andany)
|This article relates to the Principality of Andany.|
The Foreign Office of Andany (sub-department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Andany) is the government body responsible for maintaining diplomatic relations with other nations and for representing and promoting the interests of the Principality of Andany, internationally. The Foreign Office is a sub-department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Andany when it was founded on 5 November 2017.
The Foreign Office is run by the Chief Ambassador, a position which has been held by the Prince since July 2017. The Foreign Office has numerous diplomats assigned to various states, regions and organizations; these are appointed by the Prince of Andany, who through holding that office holds responsibility for relations with all nations and peoples that do not have a specifically designated diplomat. The function of ambassadors and consuls in countries which do not recognize Andany is simply to raise awareness of the Principality's existence within the country they have been assigned to and to represent the Principality to regional or national authorities should it be necessary.
The Principality currently officially claims two properties as embassies and consulates, none of which are accredited by the host state. The embassy to Mexico is not manned by an ambassador. Andany also claims extraterritoriality for all its embassies - the November 2017 Decree of Ginepro claimed administrative control by the Chief Ambassador (as opposed to the laws of the host state) for Andanian embassies as a manifestation of this extraterritoriality.
The currently claimed embassies of Andany are:
- Embassy to the United States of America - established 10 August 2017
- Embassy to México - established 12 November 2017
The Andanian Embassies in the U.S. are in the state of Nevada and New York City. Two consul work at an offices in downtown Las Vegas and New York City, where they try to make relations with other official leaders of the city of Las Vegas and New York City. The U.S. Government has not recognized these "embassies".
