History and pre-history
The kingdom of Flandria Secunda was originally founded on 15 January 2010 as 'The kingdom of Albion'. On 27 December 2011, after about 2 years after the date of foundation king William of Albion wanted to reform his nation. After some problems in the past it was time to reform the nation to start with a clean sheet. By doing so not only the name of the country changed, but everything changed! A new flag, a new coat of arms, a new government and even a new name for the king. In that way we've tried to get the distance between the old kingdom and the new one as big as possible.
Let it be clear that Flandria Secunda continues on the foundation of Albion, with the values and norms that were present. But now we are standing in front of a new age, one that will change the future Albion and its people had in mind.
Why the reformation
To be honest, the former government of Albion wanted too much too soon. If we had continued like that we wouldn't exist anymore. That's why we take a little step back, to plan every single step we take from now on. In that way we can grow in a steady course. That was the main reason for the reformation. Second reason is the concept of micronationalism. We claimed a group of Islands on Antartica. As we want to be part of a bigger piece than just 'a group of Islands' we claimed a piece of the Micraworld. (Still voting on that.)

We claimed a group of Islands between West Antarctica and the Azusan Commonwealth. Our closest neighbours are Landashir who have claimed 4 Islands next to ours.
Our group of Islands exists of 5 islands:
1: Vollmer Island
2: Moody Island
3: Kizer Island
4: Przybyszewski Island
5: Cronenwett Island
(In fact, the signatures of the islands of Vollmer and Cronenwett are swapped here)
As you can see our Islands form the shape of a cross (as you can see in our flag). That's something coincidental, but still a great symbol. Every Island forms a shire. Every shire exists out a few small cities. There is no limit to the number of cities in one shire. In that case we secure the expand of our nation. For now we only use Vollmer Island (in fact - Cronenwett Island). On this Island there are 6 cities and also the Royal City, called Center Town.

Every parcel that isn't marked with an 'X' is still available to buy. One parcel is worth 10000 Gold.
As you can see all the parcels are still available. Except for Center Town. Only royals and nobility can live there.
Government & Politics
The Kingdom of Flandria Secunda is an Constitutional Monarchy: King Baudouin XI is the Head of State and Head of Government. The Royal Government of the Kingdom of Flandria Secunda has three governmental houses, an elected Upper House, an appointed Lower House and an open Voting House who are a collective of representatives from all over the kingdom.
Upper House
The Upper House is under the authority of the king. The Royal Cabinet exists from the members of the Upper House and are appointed to positions by the king. A Grand Election is scheduled to take place every 3 months by the monarch and lasts over 3 days. Flandria Secunda hasn't got political parties but families. Every family choses his Familyhead. Most likely this is going to be the person that has the most territorial, social or money-based power in his/her family. This person becomes a member of the Upper House. The next Grand Election is expected to be called on 15 february 2012.
Lower House
The Lower House is one of Flandria Secundas governmental institutions, where all the nobel members and the mayors of the cities sit and control the affairs within the country, alongside the elected Upper House. The monarch hold's the position as head of the Lower House but has no right to vote in the Lower House. If 2/3th of the members approve a law or proposal, it's getting transferred to the Upper House where the familyheads can out their vote. Every 3 months, on the same time of the elections for the Upper House, there are elections for the Lower House. The nobility have always a seat in the Lower House. But every 3 months there are elections for new mayors. (A mayor is the person with the most territorial power in a city.)
Voting House
The Voting House is Flandria Secundas primair governmental institution. All the citizens can propose a law or a lay down a proposal regarding the national interest. After 2/3 of the votes approve the proposal, its getting transferred to the Lower House where the nobel citizens and the mayors can out their vote. So the citizens allways get the first opportunity to approve a changement in the kingdom.
Family
As said before we have no real political parties. In Flandria Secunda we call them families. Every citizen choses one family. Once chosen you have to stay with that single family. If a citizen wishes to leave a family for some reason, he or she has to ask the permission of the king. If granted, the citizen loses his/her political voting-right for 3 months. Every family has its own politcal vision.
List of families
Due to the reformation the families are dismissed. The first 3 citizens that want to raise a family can do this for free. From then on to raise a family will cost 500000 Gold. This doesn't have to be paid by one person. Several persons can put the amount of Gold together to form their own family.
Familyhead
At the top of the family stands the familyhead. This person is elected by the citizens of that family. The election find place every 3 months. The next election is on 15 september 2010. A Familyhead can be re-elected without a limit. The familyhead has to represent the interests of his family in the Upper House. This person also gets a function assigned by the king. (for example: minister of forreign affairs.) If a familyhead neglect his function he can be removed from his function by the Upper House and the king. If a familyhead don't want to be elected he can redraw himself out of the elections.
