The Associate Justices of the Republic of Eniarku assist the Eniarkian Chief Justice in the leading of the Eniarkian Supreme Court and the governing of the Eniarkian federal court system and its judicial branch as a whole. They are also the Assistant Presiding Judges of the Eniarkian Supreme Court. The most senior Assoc. Justice also has the power to take over for the Chief Justice if he/she is to be impeached, retire, or resign until a suitable replacement has been found. Although done every so often, it is incorrect to call the Assoc. Justices the "Associate Justices of the Eniarkian Supreme Court".
The Assoc. Justices are the second-highest ranking judicial officers in the country. They, as stated above, assist the Chief Justice in leading the Supreme Court as the Assistant Presiding Judges of the Eniarkian Supreme Court. This makes the Assoc. Justices the assisting chiefs of the Eniarkian federal court system.
The Assoc. Justices assist with the running of the judicial branch, while acting as its assisting spokespeople to the outside government. In the case of the impeachment of a high-ranked government official, the Assoc. Justices are to preside over the Senate along with the Chief Justice.
The first and currently only Associate Justice is Mary Dreslinski, who was confirmed on January 6, 2009. There are currently two vacant Assoc. Justice seats.
