Edward Bieniak, Prince of Horne (Dutch: Edward Joseph John; French: Édouard Joseph Jean; Greek: Εδουάρδος Ιωσήφ Ιωάννης; born 28 July 1960), is the current head of the House of Horne, the former ruling dynasty of the County of Horne in the Holy Roman Empire.[2] He is a descendant and historic heir of Philip de Montmorency, Count of Horn, the last ruling leader of the County of Horne, who was executed as a result of Spanish Inquisition in the Netherlands.[3]
Biography
Edward Joseph Ioannis Bieniak was born on 28 July 1960 in New York. He is the eldest son and youngest child of Edward Bieniak and Princess Marian of Horne, he acceded to the throne of Horne when his mother, Princess Marian resigned on 13 September 2000. He was born deaf, and primarily uses American Sign Language. Edward has two sisters, Princess Luann (who died in 2005) and Princess Sheryl. [4]
Prince Edward is a great-great-grandson of King George I of Greece and descendant of Queen Victoria. However, he is not eligible for the Greek and British thrones as a Roman Catholic.
Edward married Michele Cosentino (never styled as a Princess of Horne) in 1984. They have two daughters; Princess Kara, born in 1985, and Princess Corey, born in 1987. Princess Kara was born as first in the line of succession until Prince Dylan Jován was born in 2002. Prince Edward and Michele divorced in 1990.
In 2000, Edward's mother, Princess Marian, had given permission for Edward to marry Princess Barbara of Orléans. At the time Princess Marian had decided to resign as Princess of Horne and Prince Edward acceded to the throne of Horne. Princess Barbara is a descendant of King Louis Philippe of France and was styled as the Princess of Horne upon her marriage with the House of Horne recognising her as a Princess of Orléans. They have two sons; Prince Dylan Jován, born on 18 July 2002, and Prince Kyle, born in 2004. At Dylan's birth, he was styled as Hereditary Prince. In 2019 the House of Horne announced the divorce of Edward and Barbara.
